All we've done Mike is replace a Brontosaurus with a Diplodocus.Sorry who said it was that? I’ve seen people defending Sean Dyche saying “look where we are as a club we’ve been run into the ground what’s he supposed to do we’ve spent no money PSR NSNO means nothing these days it’s not the 80s etc etc etc”. Well who did you think was gonna inherit the mess that he left? Mourinho? Do me a favour. It’s January, we are still in a PSR hole, we’ve been left 1 point above the relegation zone by the former manager, confidence is on the floor. If you thought we were bringing in the next up and coming big thing in this window then I’ve got some magic beans to sell you.
I’ve been told “accept where we are” for the past two years as a way of justifying the dinosaur being in a job and having everyone think 16th is an achievement. So now I throw it all back at you. Accept where we are. We need saving from relegation again. Deal with it.
Id pretty much agree with this. We don't know how long term this appointment will be yet, so if it is only short term, there's still hope for a longer term vision to be put in place. This might have just bought them some time to set their plans.Obviously I have no issue with Moyes leaving Everton or even the way he left Everton. He joined the then biggest club in the world and nobody would turn that down. But his comments regarding some transfers left a sour taste in the mouth and tarnished his legacy somewhat.
I had hoped the Friedkins would have a better long-term manager lined up - they've had plenty of time to sort out a manager. Dyche's demise has been long coming and they've had half a year to prepare for a change, so it's disappointing if we are left with Moyes.
It's very Kenwright-ish.
All we've done Mike is replace a Brontosaurus with a Diplodocus.
Living in the past.
Can’t see Moyes accepting a short term contract unless it is very rewarding financially and/or includes options to extend if relegation is avoidedHard to appoint a progressive manager half way through the season when we're a point above the drop. Maybe we give Moyes until the end of the season before making the long term appointment
One is a PL Mgr, the other is a Championship /League One mgr.
Moyes is light years ahead of Dyche but they are cut from the same cloth.Moyes and Dyche are not comparable as managers.
Can't get onboard with your 2 guarantees - how can you possibly know - but I am in broad agreement with the rest of your post mateTFG probably wanted to wait until the summer but that option was taken away by Dyche wanting out. They now have to act and pretty quickly. Whats the option out there and free ATM that are willing to come to Everton now. Moyes Fonseca Carsley Allegri Sarri Southgate Terzic Ten Haag and probably a few more.
If i am Dan i will pick up the phone and start talking to people. Thelwell Coleman Baines. I can guarantee you if i asked the latter 2 their opinion the answer would be Moyes.
Am i for Moyes no. But i guarantee you one thing. If West Ham had been where we are in the table yesterday Potter would not be getting the job. Moyes would be back there. Seems also we never talked to Potter.
The plus for me with Moyes is that he will know this squad of players and their limitations. He will know exactly what he needs in the transfer window. He will improve these players from fitness to tactics. DCL will [Poor language removed] run or leave. He is the logical choice. Not my choice but i havent invested 600m.
Dont blame TFG. Dtche has bailed out demanding a paycheck and fair f... to them they wouldnt give in. Blame Moshiri BK and the rest of them that left with fat paychecks. WE are still in a mess and it will take 2 solid years to get us anyway catching up to mid table teams like Fulham
