Certainly uninspiring but I don’t think it’s worth having a fit about.

This obviously wasn’t the owners plan but Dyche being appalling and giving up like a coward has forced their hand. A long term appointment needs a preseason in my opinion to totally change the place, that’s not happening now.

Hopefully Moyes will keep us up. I’ll be a lot more concerned if he were in a stable position and their next appointment is of a similar ilk.

Moyes doesn’t deserve to lead Everton out at BMD after his behaviour when he left for Man U imho, never mind the fact I would prefer him not to return anyway.
His 10 years of negativity and persistent belittling of the club in comparison to more successful teams to shore up his own reputation, did as much damage to this club as Kenwright ever did.
His attitude cemented the plucky under dog mentality that has dogged us ever since imho. He eroded the mindset of being able to go anywhere and get a result and replaced it with one of we know we can’t beat these but let’s try not to lose.

Yes, he created a great team when he had Cahill, Arteta, Howard, Jags, Baines, peak Coleman, Fellani etc, but what did he actually achieve with it? Personally I think he under achieved, mainly because he was a bottle job when facing the Sky 6

Exactly this. 👍🏻

Hard to appoint a progressive manager half way through the season when we're a point above the drop. Maybe we give Moyes until the end of the season before making the long term appointment
Correct.

Its rare decent managers join teams half way through a season.

Moyes is
TFG probably wanted to wait until the summer but that option was taken away by Dyche wanting out. They now have to act and pretty quickly. Whats the option out there and free ATM that are willing to come to Everton now. Moyes Fonseca Carsley Allegri Sarri Southgate Terzic Ten Haag and probably a few more.

If i am Dan i will pick up the phone and start talking to people. Thelwell Coleman Baines. I can guarantee you if i asked the latter 2 their opinion the answer would be Moyes.

Am i for Moyes no. But i guarantee you one thing. If West Ham had been where we are in the table yesterday Potter would not be getting the job. Moyes would be back there. Seems also we never talked to Potter.

The plus for me with Moyes is that he will know this squad of players and their limitations. He will know exactly what he needs in the transfer window. He will improve these players from fitness to tactics. DCL will [Poor language removed] run or leave. He is the logical choice. Not my choice but i havent invested 600m.

Dont blame TFG. Dtche has bailed out demanding a paycheck and fair f... to them they wouldnt give in. Blame Moshiri BK and the rest of them that left with fat paychecks. WE are still in a mess and it will take 2 solid years to get us anyway catching up to mid table teams like Fulham
Correct...Am struggling to see how people can't get their head.

Anyone who backed the former manager and used “but look at the mess the club is in he’s what we need right now 17th would be a success” as a way of justifying him being at the club, has no right to complain if we appoint Moyes. You just look a massive hypocrite.

May all be true.

However, we need someone today to come on and steady the ship, save us from the clear relegation fight we are in and get to the summer. Appoiting a manager half way through a season is a nightmare certainly for a club in our position.

Who is coming in to do that, it certainly isn’t our first choice manager who lets all face it isn’t David Moyes. It’s a pragmatic choice taken from a pool of candidates probably no bigger than select few. Needs must.

Mate it was 12 years old when Moyes went to United.

A lot of water under the bridge since then.

If the majority of the fanbase can welcome Rooney back they can do it for Moyes.

Live and let live.

It's all a bit uninspiring, seems its the best option though. Not sure it's too smart to hire a manager whose split the fanbase before a ball is kicked. A few bad results and people will be fuming already.

Back whoever we get in.

But just until the end of the season.
