His performance level when he got going that season was awesome:

He scored 11 goals that season. Salah scored 32, Kane 30, Aguero 21, even Raheem Sterling scored 18.

Define "deadliest in the league", please.

Well, no. I haven't.

In response to his perception he's a safe pair of hands short term - I said repeatedly his short record is what's poor. That being his 2 half season stints at West Ham (both very comparable to our situation now), and his single seasons at R.Sociedad, Man Utd and Sunderland.

I also said, as you quoted, if you think he's the right option long term then his results back that up. However, I personally don't want him long term.
I agree, this is how I feel too. He doesn’t seem to be a manager who ‘rescues’ bad situations. It’s been very tight each time, even when given half a season or more. He’s not the type to lie to the players and suddenly tell them they are world beaters, upping confidence. He’s never been that way. Yes, given time I suppose he can build a good team, as we experienced, but how long did that take? Many seasons. This idea that we are suddenly going to march up the table by parachuting in Moyes is not borne out by the facts I’m afraid.

Maybe try watching his play. It was brilliant. He was making goals and scoring every type of goal in the book to boot - headers, volleys, solo runs, poachers efforts. And he made those numbers after a dreadful start when he was playing out on the wing under Bilic.

People forget how good the team was in his last season as it got kind of overshadowed by Bobby's first. But it was essentially just a continuation of the prior season, but with a top striker up front.

Gareth Barry and James McCarthy along with Ross Barkley starting a lot more games, gerard deulofeu also.

Pure and utter BS .
Go back and watch the videos. Started the season with an eleven game unbeaten run:

"Everton had a very consistent league campaign, never dropping below seventh place throughout the whole season. Highlights included a 1–0 win over Manchester United in the first game of the season, scoring two stoppage time goals to defeat Tottenham Hotspur 2–1 and a 2–0 home win over reigning Premier League champions Manchester City. However, too many draws and a lack of goals saw Everton's push for a European place fade and they finished sixth in the league. It did mean that the club finished above rivals Liverpool for the second successive season for the first time since 1937."

Signing Lukaku was the key difference.

Oh dear, and here's me thinking we might be in the top 6 by May. Oh dear. So much for hoping.

Big + about Moyes is that there's clear evidence of him actually improving players. Arnautovic is an excellent example at West Ham. Also Lingard, Bowen, Kudus, Paqueta (state of the latter two under Lopetegui) etc. Compared with Dyche we have Dwight Mcneil and...that's about it. Maybe Doucoure for about 10 games (God help us all). How did Calvert-Lewin play under Dyche?
