Based on what Dave?

He finished 5th with Everton and also 11th, twice, he regularly had Wigan in the bottom half, escaped relegation on the last day numerous times and then took them down.

I really don't understand what you cling to, its baffling.

His whole body of work screams failure.
He spent £27M on Lukaku and he was a sensation for us. I think if he'd had that type of cash to spend on 5 other quality players he'd have had us top 4 or 5. He did that with a negative net spend in his first season, so it's unreasonable to doubt he couldn't have done at least that with a lot of cash. He could have bought a couple of top CDs to provide the basis for a team.

Think id go Roberto. The potential was there and if he could have overcome that stubbornness and be more adaptable, would have fared better. Perhaps Internaitonal management suits him more.

Moyes no thank you.

rest, nah.
Brilliant first season. Where did it all go wrong?

Picked Martinez only because I felt like he was most likely to learn from his previous mistakes .... but wouldn’t want any of them back !

I don't really think it should include caretakers as they often have very good (big Dunc) or very average to very poor (Unsworth) short periods in charge but untested over the longer term.

All the others were here longer (although Allardyce was very short too).

Of the permanent former managers I would go for Moyes, but it's a far harder choice and no cop outs.

Tbh I would back either Roberto or Davey Moyes as could see either doing a decent job.

To be fair he is the only one on the list to have won a trophy in England...

You know what it wasn't great to watch at the time but bloody ell he never had a carrot to spend he defo stabilised our club with crumbs of a budget .

That spending thing isn't true. We spent loads the season that Collins, Dacourt, Materazzi etc came in. We didn't score a goal at home for about 3 months.

Bobby for me. Miss losing to Bournemouth, him then hypnotising everyone into us all thinking we played well
