Williams is the one for me who has to go.

Jagielka good to step up when needed and has a great attitude.

Baines is still quality but we need to start the transition.

Morgan may have hope for redemption.

Rooney a good squad player, especially against poorer sides at Goodison.

The big 4 to go have to be:

Rooney
Williams
Mirallas
Schneirderlin

All 4 have poisonous attitudes and sny new manager would face trouble if they aint playing every week.

I think Rooney will stay but the others will go - problem is Rooney won't be happy with a squad player role.

Its why we need a strong Emery type manager who will come in with trophies under his belt and not afraid to tell big name players they havent a future.

On top of those 4 you then have the below players who are simply not good enough/finished:

Besic
Jagielka
Klaassan
Bolasie
Sandro
Browning
Garbutt
Galloway

Send Calvert Lewin, Onykeru and Vlasic out on loan.

We then need about 5 good signings:

LM
2x CM
LB
CB

Good post except for me Jags & Bolasie should be in the leave now column. Add to that Baines who you have overlooked.

Jagielka is going to be 36 at the start of next season. This needs to end at some point.
Him and Baines come in every two months and offer 60 minutes of decent standard football before disappearing again, but it "underlines how much we still need them"...apparently.

There's an inability to let things go here. It's like some of our fans have hoarder's syndrome. It's a living museum dedicated to mediocrity our squad, and many fans are culpable for it.

Yep both have been so called leaders of a team that has no spine and no winning mentality for last 4 years. Honest players. But soft and not good enough for top 6 push next season. Finished 2 years ago.

I don’t understand this line of thinking. Rooney can play a role on this team, but no, it’s not a starter unless someone is hurt. But if he’s won’t, he’s gone. If the club > Board > D of F > Coach are behind that decision, it’s pretty simple. It doesn’t require a “big” manager with status, it requires a manager with some balls and club backing. Frankly, ANY manager we have should have that backing. If your manager doesn’t have the guts to do that, regardless of trophies, they aren’t fit to be manager.

But to me, the club isn’t current great, it’s easy to ship out this evening players because there will be minimal negative reaction if it happens.

Baines, too. He can’t starting here anynore. He was fine today. Good backup. Bench option.
