We have so little depth that I'd basically keep everyone in the current squad that is getting minutes unless a real substantive offer comes in. Just let the contracts run out otherwise.

I still think the years of terrible recruitment have crippled us. Yes, we have spent A lot since the Walsh era, but Sigurdsson on £120k a week still kills me.
Sigurdsson, Gomes, Delph are my first three on the list. Slow, rarely impact and don't have fight in them to push on and take games by scruff of neck.
Coleman is the only second tier player on my list, and I'd give him the Baines treatment - keep him, will rarely play, but can be impactful when called upon, and a good influence in changing room.
Personally, there aren't too many players who i want to change out now. Goalkeeper, Centre Midfield, Striker (King may solve this) and Wingers are what we badly need. WHen you look at the top teams, they have creativity coursing their veins along with energy and pace. United, Fernandes; City, DeBruyne etc... I genuinely don't think we're too far off, but what impacted Koeman, Martinez, Silva is the lack of energy in the middle. The last time we genuinely had that for me, was probably Arteta. Allan, Doucoure and a new signing would do us the world of good for me.

No surprise we’re basically binning off the least competitive midfield in history. We’ve been unlucky in that Allan has been injured for big periods but our problems start and end in the centre of the park.

pickers isn’t good enough if we are going the defensive solidity route, but we’ve got a flair for signing bang average backups. No point signing Olsen, not good enough.
That’s a dreadful state. The fact players like kean and onyeruku have passed through the club without improving us on the field isn’t great. I love a profit, but we’re still looking for a lukaku replacement, wasted 2 years on Kean and no further forward.
sounds doom and gloom? I think we’ve seen green shoots of recovery, when we find our courage we can play, but fear cripples us. We cleared wages over January so should be doing business in the summer. This time next year I expect us to look much more balanced and put a realistic push for top 6 together. Rome wasn’t built in glasshouses or some other cliche.
