The Steven Pienaar appreciation thread

So you want that shitbag back that tried calling off sick for a vital game and enforced Moyes to drop him for poor attitude?

This is surely in jest? Heitinga will prove much better.

John Heitinga is a good footballer and isn't terrible at defending either. For me, this is important, ok.

Steven Pienaar is a good footballer and works hard, although his crossing and shooting are a bit wayward at times, which is why he is not as good as Mikel 'El Conductor' Arteta.

You seem right there but it's a lesson to be learnt from lescott for the other players IMO that money isn't always gonna make you Ryan Giggs with trophies and all is it? Lescott's been poor..poor than Darren Moore of derby county if you remember eversince his move.Look at Jo on the other hand,he was at citeh too..wouldn't he wana go back and enjoy his salaries and easy life..but he has openly declared how loving the fans are and how welcomed he has felt here and that's more important..he can atleast prove himself here now..Pienaar can't be joining Inter,Arsenal or any of those..he'll waste himself there..he's not a worldclass player still IMO and Everton is the perfect place for him

Agreed, the grass is always greener, eh? But that's the reality of football & it's up to the club to manage these situations to best effect. I agree re Pienaar too - he'a one of our top players, but he's no Fabregas.

Johnny Heitinga is turning out to be a very good player for us. We've picked up a very good utility man for 6 million, a player who is actually accomplished in three different positions. Not one of those pretend utility players who are really only good in one position.

As for Steven Pienaar, fantastic. Other than Saha he's been my player of the season so far, easily. Granted, he was out for two months, but no one actually did anything to stake a claim during that period.

He's an excellent footballer and our most hardworking player, a dream really. There was an Ajax flag in the ground today, probably for both of them. Some Dutch Blues, probably.
