Rio, Evans and Vidic were better. Would have been 4th choice at UTD. Barca suited him. They had 80 percent of the possession. Didn't need to defend. Exceptional on the ball though. Last year he was a calamity though. Wasn't surprised.

Not really sure that's fair. At the time Ferdinand and Vidic were the best in the business and keeping hold of Pique would have stunted his growth and so it was one of those rare transfers where it suited all concerned.

Rafael's inclusion surprises me, means they have no experienced RB/RWB unless they get in someone like Cuadrado. Young and Velencia have been OK there in preseason but it seems quite a big gamble.

Kagawa has apparently been told there is a role for him as a 3rd choice number 10 behind Mata and Herrera.

No idea when he could get better than that playing for a team this years Champions league or Europa. Also thought Herrera was more a box to box midfielder rather than a number 10. Several odd things in the article, it is the Daily Mail though so not sure how true any of it is.

i'd take fellaini and hernandez on a free like. even though he's gone a bit crap, rafael will be a better RB backup and more suited to our style then hibbert.
