£28m is an insult. An utter insult.

They bid £12m for Baines a couple of weeks ago, why do they think the same bid will get him?

If we'd received that bid whilst Moyes was here then he'd be fuming. I hope Bill is fuming and shows he's got a pair of balls for once and stands up to that ginger tit.

He´s trying to make Fellaini, Baines or both hand in transfer request, or at least "declare for Man Utd" and by doing that make Evertons position impossible.

Moyes wants to be the big swinging dick around town and this is the way he thinks he´ll get that respect. I reckon he figures if he acts like cnut he will look more like Ferguson. Thing is, managers of rich clubs don´t act that way today. If you look at the likes of Chelsea and Man City, yes, they get their player but the selling club is always appropriately compensated.

Yup. That's what gonna happen now.

Arsenal, United or who ever are gonna low ball us hoping the player will spit his dummy out.

If I take a step back from being an Evertonians I would say the following:

Baines is twice the player that 20m Glen Johnson is.

However he's approaching 30, and if he left now he'd only have 2-3 years max left in his absolute prime. That's not saying he won't be quality when he's 33, but it may be the case.

If Baines was 25 and playing for Liverpool and available he'd be a 25m player for me. Nobody pays 30m for a left back and probably never will.

But as it is he is 29 and plays for potless Everton, who always, always sell.

I think a bid of 15-18m would be 'fair' for him, but of course as an Evertonian I know we wouldn't get even a half as good replacement and be a lot worse a team for it.

You can't help but feel all these silent directors at Everton will be rubbing their hands with glee at this news this morning.

Didn't Coentrao go to Madrid for £30?
 

LCAB on twitter says they both would be open to a move, fee would need to be around £40mill. Martinez won't get all the money, but he's already got players lined up.

Take that what you will.

I think that is obvious.

CL football is a big draw as we know.

40m and I would not feel cheated. This would enable Martinez to go and get some new players in, but it needs to be done quickly.

Edit: The fact that Martinez would not get all of the money needs addressing. Pretty sure Bill and Bob said we don't need to sell anyone this summer! More lies ahead from the charlatans running the club?
