martinez studied our team and tactics and how to play against us. He didn't watch videos of us and look at weak positions and then go travelling around the world scouting for players that would help improve us!
he's not been here long, people need to chill ffs. Everyone on here is moaning at him looking at alcarez because it's a player he knows about; yet you're all moaning because he hasn't already decided for certain 3/4 players that will definitely improve us and bought them already!

also i thought lovren was going for free with the way everyone was gutted about him going to saints. He's going for £7m ffs, what would be the point in us spending what would probably be the majority of our budget on a centre back when it's one of our stronger areas? he may not even start for us, why people get so angry?

Is that all you have to say on the matter, it's true?. Very convincing! Where's the hard facts pal?. We can all make rumours up mate!.

And when Martinez studied us last season and the seasons before, course he'll look for weak spots in the team so that he can pin point em and work at em with his Wigan side. That doesnt mean cos he knows that he'd start thinking about players that we need, although if asked when analysing Everton for TV what positions/areas we need to strengthen, he'd know and give his opinion.

He said as soon as he walked through the door, we need strengthening so he clearly knows who he wants and for where!.

Cortese and his minions have sorted them right out.

The bloke who owned them, Markus Leibher, died a few years ago and left Southampton a considerable trust fund and there debt free aswell, and on top of that they've got a nice bit of cash coming in from the new TV deals so thats where there cash is coming from. This is correct information.

There were rumours that Cortese was going to do one this summer. And Pocchetino was going to follow him out.

No luck though.

I don't "wank" over McCarthy, but I rate him too. Very good young midfielder who I've no doubt will go on to bigger and better things.

I think we can't compare Strootman...even Fer to McCarthy. They are different pool of players. I think McCarthy is another Glenn Whelan. Average PL footballer but he is still young so he may improve.

Certainly not the 14 million I've seen quoted previously, but the 6-8 million that cropped up today looks much more appealing. I personally think that would be good business.

James McCarthy is much better than Whelan and is a good player, if he didn't play for Wigan, was Spanish and his name was something like Jaime Martinez a lot more of you would like him
