Certainly not the 14 million I've seen quoted previously, but the 6-8 million that cropped up today looks much more appealing. I personally think that would be good business.
I would be semi-interested for 2.5m, anything higher and IM OWT.

I've seen little of McCarthy to be honest but Martinez has my trust until he proves he doesn't deserve it.
That said, I'd rather not splurge most of our budget on a midfielder. We need a striker most of all (although we do seriously lack a playmaker).
Enough for me to think he is a good player.
And I watch enough Wigan too.

I agree we badly need a striker, but I also think our central midfield options are poor. Gibson has done well, but you never know exactly how many games you'll get out of him.I've seen little of McCarthy to be honest but Martinez has my trust until he proves he doesn't deserve it.

I think we definitely need to strengthen central midfield.
I agree and if he stays, then maybe not so much of a priority.I see Fellaini as a CM, and always have.

And if he goes, we'll need to be less frugal about our priorities as we'll have more cash to spend.
I bet you never rated Baines when he was at Wigan either.
If he stays, I doubt Bobby will play him in the SS role.
That's one of the reasons I'm not too disheartened with the prospect of the Moyes-to-Martinez transition.
