We don't get money direct from selling the shirts though mate. We're given a fixed sum by Kitbag/Nike and the profits go to them. We get a commission for kits sold once it goes over a certain number but it's a drop in the ocean compared to the new TV money.
The worst thing is that the commission part has only been introduced by Nike. Up until then there was zero benefit to us selling a lot of merchandise.
We don't get money from merchandise sales anyway, with the exception of a commission for the kits after a certain number are sold. That and the season tickets make up a small part of our overall turnover. The loss of any kit bonus or ticket sales will be negligible after the extra £40m per season is taken in.
