Sky Sports News website have a piece on Martinez. Read into it what you will, but I hope it's not a signal that there will be very little activity in the transfer market by Everton. Obviously transfers need to be well planned and thought out, but it just seems to be the same as what we've been hearing for the last few years. It would be nice to hear the club come out with positive comments and say they have a shortlist of 'x' number of targets that they are actively pursuing for a change.
Roberto Martinez will only target players of a specific DNA as he attempts to make his mark at new club Everton.
The 39-year-old, who has cultivated a reputation for playing attractive football, was named as David Moyes' successor earlier this month.
And now Martinez is working hard to bolster the Toffees' squad, though he won't be making any decisions in haste.
"There is some work going on already and over the next few weeks we need to make sure that we bring the right characters as well as the right players to the football club," said the Spaniard.
"It's not going to be the case of bringing anyone at any time - it's important we identify the type of help we need in the dressing room and in the team.
"We must make sure they are a type of footballer who will fit in with the train of thought at Everton.
"It's more a matter of finding the right players and that will take a little bit of time."
Sounds like he's planning on getting people in to me.
