The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

I haven't seen much of him but the majority of players of his type are inconsistent and don't make the step up from exciting prospect to a genuinely quality player. I think we need someone who can go straight into the team. I'm by no means his biggest fan but Scott Sinclair scored 27 goals for swansea the season before they were promoted. Redmond scored 2 last year.

Exactly.

I rather make gamble on Sinclair but he may cost a lot since he is English (so must be overpriced). That's why I am not keen on signing British players unless they are up and coming like the time when we signed Jags, Baines and Lescott.

From SKY:

"Reports coming out of France suggest Everton could be interested in Nancy’s Lossemy Karaboue. New Everton boss Roberto Martinez was keen on Karaboue while he was in charge of Wigan and he could rekindle his interest in the midfielder this summer"

Never heard of him, know nothing of him.

Wiki says he's crap

That's what I am concerned with. A player who is good enough for Wigan; a target when he was at Wigan - doesn't mean Martinez should go for the same player because he may not be good enough for Everton. Everton shall sign better players.

Hope this is papertalks only.

So because he wanted to sign the lad when he was manager at Wigan hes then becomes not good enough for Everton

With that logic then, Michu is not good enough for us and Neither is Benteke

I wouldn't take either of them Obviously I would, i'm just being a tit

Surely a lad of 19 is "up and coming" and not the finished article, fair enough he's younger than when those 3 players signed for us, but if he is available at between 2 and 3 million, its not too great a risk we'd be taking.

what are you on about? Martinez wanted Zaha, who now at Man u, he also wanted Stones who now with us.

I've seen a lot of Redmond as i live in the West Midlands and he was distinctly average last season, albet in a poor Birmingham team. Whilst i wouldn't be too excited by him coming in, it could be a pretty risk-free signing at £2-3 million.
