Why all these links to Centre Backs - I would have thought that it the one position we don't need to spend a wedge of a comparatively small budget on. Jags is Capt and nailed on starter, despite his age Distin was consistent last season and still looks as quick as anyone in that position in the Prem, for all the rumour I think we're stuck with Johnny for a year - can't see anyone paying a fee and the wages he will want when he only has a year left on his contract. Then there is young Duffy - who when he came in last time was MoM in a couple of games against decent opposition. A £10m striker would make far more difference IMO.
I like the sound of Redmond as well, but in reality is he any better than people we already have, Kennedy for example. I worry about us spending our whole budget on bench-warmers with potential, when what we need is a couple of players who are good enough to be on the pitch from the start and improve us.
We've been linked with Nathan Redmond. Raw, young talent, 3 Million ? Bargain.

Zaha was badly over priced and Redmond isn't that different.

Nothing really mate, Martinez has dipped down there to pick up Moses in the past, he tried for John Stones, he picked up both McCarthy and Mccarther as youngsters, it seems it's not out of question he could be looking at Redmond.

I haven't seen much of him but the majority of players of his type are inconsistent and don't make the step up from exciting prospect to a genuinely quality player. I think we need someone who can go straight into the team. I'm by no means his biggest fan but Scott Sinclair scored 27 goals for swansea the season before they were promoted. Redmond scored 2 last year.
