It all depends on which formation Martinez fancies. I don't think Barkley would play ahead of Gibson, Pienaar, Osman, Fellaini or Mirallas anyway, but he should at least be 6/7th choice midfielder this year as opposed to about 10th for most of last year.

I'd move Mirallas inside because I think he could score quite a few goals from there, so that could open up an opportunity on the right. Barkley would probably be second choice in that position, so he'd have much more chance of getting games.

I agree about mirallas. That's why i think RM should be our main priority, as well as CF obviously. I wonder if Martinez will want to give Jelavic another go though.

I think that if we buy a RM it will make it more difficult for Barkley to break through. If we had Gibson, Fer and Mirallas occupying the more central positions then Osman could do a job on the right and mirror the shape that we have on the left with Pienaar. We could bring Barkley in whenever we wanted to rest Ossie or if he was needed in another position. Donovan might be a possibility in January as well.

I don't think a player loses it so quickly. Maybe Moyes was asking him to do things which he found alien and it interrupted his normal game? He then tensed up and snatched at chances that he would have previously slotted. If we have players around him being busy and drawing defenders he should hopefully start to find things falling for him inside the box again. We didn't pay and awful lot for him, so I think it's worth persevering with him (even as a second choice) rather than cashing in. If he can refind his goalscoring touch he'll save us a fortune.

Anyway the misses has passed out from too much sangria so thought I'd risk the extravagant charges and turn the 'data roaming' on & check up on the footy news & EFC business that I've missed over the last 5 days.
Bit disappointed to say the least, LFC 'on the verge' of signing Mignolet & some Armenian for £20m (is he decent? I'd fcuking love them to do another Henderson). I can't seen us linked to anyone & thought we'd at least have Alcaraz on board by now. Has anyone been strongly linked with Felli? Or has his arl fella been talking bad shoite again? Lots of posters saying 'when he's gone' etc and lots of posts that insinuate Fer is a done deal. Presume there's nothing new in this & everyone's guessing he's still on our radar? Aah FFS we're doing all our business on the last day as per-fcuking usual aren't we?
