The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

Martinez has obviously not made this claim in public. To the best of my knowledge; and as I said in my original post to Dave, I may well have been paraphrasing, I read it on this very forum as a comment attributed to Kenwright. It struck me as both a very likely scenario and as a statement I perceive Bill could well have made. If I've taken a read of some scurrilous nonsense from someone else and fallen hook, line and sinker then I hang my head in shame.

If you have ever read anything I've posted of GOT, I'm not prone to hyperbole. Nor am I poster of 'pants' or 'lies'.

you're right milks. it hasn't been made public though, nobody would do anything that stupid. seems to be the end of heitinga thankfully

He said how he'd beat man city, not how playing heitinga would mean wigan would win, wasn't it?

Come to think of it..you're right...apologies...BK said that over dinner Marinez told him how he had beaten City. He didn't mention beating Everton.Whover said that in the first place has either misheard, or got it wrong somehow. Bill said something like ' He(Martinez) got a piece of paper out and showed me how he'd beaten City'. Someone can probably produce the tape ?

Everyone needs to chill out and wait for the transfer deadline until they fume about how the board is terrible. I had faith in January and they failed me but I think they'll back Martinez this summer.

i love Everton, but why would a big player from europe join us at the min, ****e board with no ambition, a manager who took wigan down, ave wages, no europe...is jeffers still playing.

We still pay more than foreign clubs that aren't in the TOP bracket (barcelona, real etc). And we are still a contender for Europe in the toughest league in the world currently, a league also known to be one of the best.

Rising talented players may see us as a stepping stone to get themselves seen in a greater spotlight, which is fine, they improve team and can be sold for a profit if need be.

But if we can get players in right positions there is no reason why we cant push harder for 4th.

Would love a young creative midfield talent and a Negredo or Soldado.

Would really be the push we needed. The money is there to go for it.

The board has been terrible year after year, why should they get another chance really?

I'm glad you're not the man tasked with convincing players that they should join our great club.

Don't you ever get bored repeating the same old negative ****e?

we are a great club, just run by selfish greedy ****ers who dont care about our great club.

sorry mate, but its just my opinion.

To be fair Barkleys tackling improved an awful lot during his limited appearances last year, that for me was one of his main weaknesses previous. In my opinion he could well be the breakout player next year.

He should be playing. The CM anchor role isn't just about tackling though. He'd need to know what positions he should be taking up, when to pass runners on and when to track them, when to go forward etc. Moyes said that Fellaini ran round like a headless chicken to begin with and they had to get him to think more zonally rather than chasing the ball. It would be a very steep learning curve to put him straight into the middle.
