The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

I reckon we should sell all our first 11, and replace them with the Tahiti team. Except for the one who plays in Greece, transfer will be too much.

We can get Alcaraz instead of him, cause he is free as a bird.

Come next May, we can have an open top bus to celebrate our net spend trophy.

Well on twitter its been doing the rounds that were looking at a cut price deal for N'Zogbia (and IF true, i wouldnt mind that at about £4-5m), and were being linked to an Ecuadorian striker called Marlon de Jesus

Like i say though, rumours on twitter!.

As I have said. Enough for me to think they are good plus they have good reputation and there are reasons why.

I oppose the idea of signing two or three unproven young players because I think it will not pay off. We need players to improve the first team now. I just don't see a team that want to be in the top 6, merely sign a few Championship players as major signings. This ain't FM, big money is needed to sign players that will move this club forward. I just don't buy the "potential" talk. Cadmarteri had potential, Jevons had potential, even a few here thought Kissock was a good player with huge potential. What are they now?

No one is even saying go do all our deals in the championship. All top teams try and find that future star from lower leagues every year so why should everton be different?

Then you go and say buy players who you haven't even watched yourself you have basically looked at his wiki page watched him do a few step overs on YouTube and you've creamed your pants.

Now that another season of the Premier League is over and done with, transfer rumours will start to fly around with Everton being linked with every player going! One player we have been linked with in the past is Mohamed Diame which I decided to write this article on how and why Everton could benifit on a player like him if he was lured into Goodison Park this summer.

So who is Mohamed Diame?

For those who don’t know who Mohamed Diame is, he’s a sort of box-to-box midfielder if you’d like (prefably a defensive midfielder) who currently plays for West Ham united and also represents Senegal when on international duty. He started out his playing career at French club Lens, before having stints with Spanish clubs Linares and Rayo Vallecano until he made his name in England by joining Wigan Athletic in 2009. The best attributes to describe Diame are: a very dynamic player, a powerhouse, tall, stong, skillful and a good tackler. West Ham will do well to hangon to him for such a affordable release clause (£3.5 million is the word)

The 26 year-old has been a vital for the Hammers in the heart of their midfield. He was recently awarded with stunning strike against Manchester United as goal of the season, the best signing of the season award and best indivdual performance awarded by the club. Also the stats show that Mo was the 4th best defensive midfielder in the 12/13 season just gone with Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin topping the list. A superb 1st season as you can see.

Now lets get to the point- why do I want him at Everton?

I personally think Diame is something we’ve been crying out for and would be a fantastic edition to The Peoples Club. The fact he’s only has a £3.5 MILLION RELEASE CLAUSE to his name (which is very affordale in Everton’s circumstances), has also worked and played under Martinez before at Wigan Athletic, the skills and attributes what he’s got and alot of Premier League experience playing over 100+ games. I can’t see any other reason why not to go for him.

Really since fellaini has been moved forward to an advanced midfield role or ‘in the whole’ if you’d like, we haven’t exactly filled that role what Fellaini does in the heart of the midfield (a tank). We had to either put up with Phil Neville and Leon Osman, or Darron Gibson who’s sat a bit deeper at times. We’ve been linked with several players in the past that can fit the bill: Capoue, Onazi, Wanyama and the list goes on and on. Also not forgetting that we was very close in January to signing Dutch international Leroy Fer for a fee of £8.6 million who is a much similar sort of player like Diame but much younger with greater expectations to be the next Patrick Viera/Yaya Toure. In my opinion, I disagree think that it Diame would be a cheaper alternative to Fer. I feel that he’s just as good as him and has the same key attributes. But if Fellaini was to leave this summer and we were did bring Mo in over Leroy, we would be able to strenghen in other areas with the Fellaini money and the TV deal everyone has been hyping on about i.e like a goal keeper to challenge Howard for once etc, a provern and consistent goal scorer etc.

In conclusion, Mohamed Diame would be a key asset to Everton for only a small fee. Wheather Roberto and the board decide to trigger that reported £3.5 million clause is up to them. I believe that we should jumped to the chance on signing someone of his standard and quality. This is something I believe we’ve been crying out for in the middle of midfield.

In Roberto we trust!

Would love to see this as our starting 11:
