I love Kev he is brilliant. But how good he is has NO baring on how much we Mertens will leave for.

You are talking 15 million Euro's for him.

Where did I say anything about the price tag regarding Mertens? Could very well be PSV slaps a £15m price tag on him. That won't mean he's actualy worth that amount though, is it.

All I'm saying is that I don't rate him as highly as alot on here seem to do. Didn't know much about Mirallas before he joined Everton, but have seen a lot more of Mertens during the past few years. He just isn't that special in my eyes. If he'll ever join us I'm more than happy if he makes me eat these words. An okay player imo, not someone I'd jizz all over the place for.

Would never put him ahead of Jags and Distin, would be decent back up if/when Heitinga goes.

Would be too risky for me to go into the season with those 4, an experience back up will be handy to replace Johnny.
