The summer 2013 Everton transfer rumourZ thread

Some people really are miserable sods. We are buying a striker for 5 million who is going to score more goals than our current strikers. When people say he wont score 20 goals for us, A STRIKER COSTING 5 MILLION IS NOT EXPECTED TO FFS. This is a SQUAD PLAYER. We are buying a lad who is in his peak years, will give us something different, he is strong, pacey and knows where the net is as well as knowing the manager and already knows the mans tactics. He is a great option if we were down whatever score and needed a goal.

Those complaining about age, i'd be more worried if we bought a young striker with no experience of the league rather than this lad as the younger one would probably score less goals. We also bought Distin for the same price and he was like 3 years older, don't see people complaining about his "re-sale value" now do we?

We are not stopping at Kone and McGeady. These are squad players that we can count on coming off the bench when we need it. No more relying on Naismith to come on and score a goal as our bench was inexperienced and was not going to make an impact (Apart from Barkley but he couldn't get a game ffs).

When we see the big outs, we will see the big ins. Take Aubameyang for example, the story may be bullsh*t but if true it even shows that we are waiting for the big money players going out before we can buy these players that really are going to make an impact in the first team. So for the love of god, stop complaining when we are actually addressing our squad problems with decent players.

Absolutely spot on..... unless we can afford to pay 20 million plus for a world class striker this is an excellent option.

We cannot afford the luxury of bedding in a "prospect striker", we need to hit the ground running and have an option that knows the prem, is adjusted to the high tempo and can score goals.

Having watched Kone a few times, he is fast, strong and causes problems and scores goals in a relegated team. Lets see him in our team with quality players feeding through balls

5 million is perfect and this player will score goals

Maybe next year, when the players are fully adjusted to RM ways , tactics we can then go and get a talent that we can bed in to turn out to be world class....

I'm sure Jelavic will come good again, players just dont lose it over night. Don't forget he come to the league in Jan, then went off to the Euro's. Mentally, I think he just needed a rest. Watching him last season, he wasnt getting the ball quick enough, and those on the ball took 1 touch too many and delayed the pass.

I have no idea how people think about stuff sometimes. We have a pair of chuckleheads who couldn't score more than 13 goals between them all season but some here are gutted we're bringing in this feller Kone who 'wont improve us'.

Maybe Martinez should go back to the end of that rainbow and take out another pot of gold and sign up *current FM whizz kid* for £20M?

Fc Twente confirm interest in Leroy Fer from 3 English clubs, but no deal will happen until he returns from holidays.

I want to hear from Munsterman

Agree with much of that but neither Kone or McGeady would be squad players I'm afraid. Kone will be first choice, hopefully alongside Jela but possibly instead of him if we go 4-2-3-1

he could be 99

There's only one 99...

Don't agree with people accepting kone. What is the point of having 3 average strikers who incedentaly are all worth about 5M each....anichebe, kone and jelavic.

IMO vic is worth keeping. He is a super sub, well someone who can perform from the bench anyway. Don't see the point in having jelavic and kone. It's one or the other and then a 10M striker adding to the squad. Or if really skint, neither and just get a 10M man and a loan. Kone is ok, like jelavic is ok, we need someone who is ace!!

Forget jelavic's form, I don't think Martinez will be impressed with the rest of his game, he hardly fits into his style of football on the floor, even when banging them in the rest of his game was very average. If Martinez signs kone I do think he will be to replace jelavic, if Fellaini then moves on he will buy another striker too.

It used to be the best Everton forum out there. Sheeds only relays what he hears from agents and admits himself that it is all hearsay and not to quote him on it. He is a gent.
