I'm chilled, apparently they have already had talks ( according to the Echo a few weeks back ) I was just pointing out that we did not have to wait for his contract to be completed at Wigan before we could sign him.

We can sign him a month before the end of his contract ( Or maybe 3 )

Anyway, I don't rate him, rather we never got him to be honest.
 
Would be something different to the CBs we have now - Heitinga not included. I'm all for playing the ball out of defense instead of hoofing it, and if Alcaraz is the man for that fine by me. Who knows he might be able to keep his standards high for another 5 years. Don't forget Weir, Watson and Gough and how they did at a much older age.

Age is nothing but a number on a birth-certificate, it's not a measure of a guys fitness.

Distin is a prime example.
 
Richard Gough was like 37/38 right? he was a red headed beast of a defender who practically kept us out of relegation on his own.
 

I like CBs to be experienced. Sounds great to have U21s but they make mistakes. 30 is a great age for first choice CB

Not good enough from what i have seen of him albeit only on tv a few times last season.

Not happy us signing players went down with another club, not the standard of player we need to push on and progress a squad player yes but i would imagine he and Kone (who i also do not rate) will be in our first 11 come the start of the season....if indeed we do sign them.

But there are lots of examples of good players who went down.

Juninho jumps to mind.

I got told Kone was signing last week, i'm not fussed on him. Think he will do a job.

On going issues about the payment Is what I have been told, Wigan want it up front and we want to stagger over a few years. Might be offering a player and cash now.

Take it with a pinch of salt, my mate knows someone at Wigan Football club. Is Sheedy about these days, he might know something as well.
 
I think we have around 10m ish before we have to sell. Once the 3 amigos come in or two of them that will be are funds spent...allegedly.
