It seems I've misunderstood how to play this game then.

..I think Martinez knows he's stepping up a level and I wouldn't presume he is going back to Wigan to buy McCarthy or anybody else. Linking managers with their old team is obvious and we are under the same assumption with Moyes. Martinez will know the squad he's inheriting and he will know the priorties and these are probobly not a defensive midfielder, especially if he can keep Gibson fit. My bet will be that no Wigan plyers come to us.

I also think Mark Schwazer would be a good signing for us, he is on a free and would be a good goal keeper to challenge Howard, needed seeing as Mucha is off

He wouldn't come unless he is guranteed first team footy. I'm content with Howard he is decent, Can't see anyone replacing him.

I think it's a possibility like, however it'll be a conjunct of some of what's swilling around, I personally don't see the directors doing owt, nor us increasing debt.

Btw has Fer moved yet please anyone?

...from what I understand, Martinez is a real analyst of the 'global game' and I have a feeling that he has a couple of players he really wants who might not be marquee signings on the face of it, but ones he really wants who he would struggle to attract to Wigan but feels he has a lot more ooooomph now.

Im having a hard time finding all those CMs better and cheaper than McCarthy other than Fer. Not saying McCarthy is a world class player but lets be realistic people, there are not that many world class or even good CMs out there cheaper than 10M. Same with all those out there saying we can find wingers as good as Mirallas for 5M.

We have got ourselves some great bargains in the past and something they all had in commom is they where No Names*before signing for us. I really really doubt we'll get 3 or 4 internationals or potentially World Class players for less than 10M. We could maybe get 1, 2 at the most but not the 3 or 4 players we need.

Adrien from sporting, Adam Maher would probably be cheaper, Rodney Sneidjer, Leroy Fer, Markus Henrikson, Jem Karacan is probably similar level, Dzemaili from napoli, Moreno Costanzo from young boys, Jenssen from norway, Martinez i am sure will know many many more.

sorry mate but just makes me laugh a little when i see a post like this, fair does to ya you may have a worldwide 'actual' knowledge of players across the globe, apologies if you watch the young boys or AZ or the norwegian league games but unless you do this is just a whose good on fifa/footy manager list etc

When i was trying to learn Norwegian i watched a bit of the norwegian league to try and pick up some words for football, that was last year (and ive since given up) but i do watch a lot of football, not really that much from italy or spain, but i watch whatever footy i can that's on.

I'd personally take Kone if his 6.5M release clause is true. Proven goalscorer in the prem and to be fair to the lad he hardly had world class players around him, I think we could do much worse and he is a realistic target

6 million for a bloke with zero resale value in the financial situation we have here is not the smart thing to do, especially when hes to be honest besides in the games against uswhen he had the fortune to be playing up against jhonny cant be arsed, hes been overall pretty cack

When i was trying to learn Norwegian i watched a bit of the norwegian league to try and pick up some words for football, that was last year (and ive since given up) but i do watch a lot of football, not really that much from italy or spain, but i watch whatever footy i can that's on.
