We're arriving at Heathrow next week, picking up an SUV and driving around the country for a month. I hear that coin
operated parking meters are getting scarce and that scanning with your phone after enrolling with a local operator is the
way it's usually done now.

How does that work for tourists? Or am I worrying about nothing? Can you just swipe your Visa?
Just give me your visa details mate and don’t worry I will sort it all out for you
No worries

This is my biggest gripe about the Lake District, Machu Picchu, the Great Barrier Reef, Victoria Falls, Ha Long Bay, Antartica, the Serengeti... none of them have any chain stores, in case you suddenly want to buy another handbag!

You can probably find some LV in Cusco nearby MP for cheap. Lord knows every city I visit in South America has Ray Bans... and cheap! Which is good as sunglasses don't have a long lifespan in my household. Been through GuayBans, ChileBans, RioBans and am now sporting BogoBans.

I am currently sporting BasileBoliBans !

Just booked accomodation for NYC in December. Staying in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Any shouts for what to see/do/eat apart from the obvious stuff?
Fette Sau barbecue joint in Brooklyn. Will be there myself in 5 weeks.

Going Hisaronu/olu deniz in August. Any good? Been Bodrum and Marmaris but weren't a fan of either. The wife booked it last week for me, her and our lads. Daughter going away to Antalya with her mum. peace and quiet from her teenage strops for 10 days.

Hisaronu and Olu Deniz are great, can get very hot though

We're visiting Venice for a day in early August as part of a cruise.
Does anyone have any recommendations for things to do whilst we are there?
Expecting it to be extremely busy, but, would appreciate any advice.
