A bit later than normal but looking at our first 100 F days of the year in Texas later this week. Should just about get over the line, fortunately nothing too outrageous. People here don't really take notice until it hits 105.

It was 32 degrees in Hertfordshire today. 32 unpleasant, unacceptable degrees. That's 10 degrees past nice, and well into the "I wish I was dead" part of the thermometer. Currently googling flights to Reykjavik and Tromso.

33 degrees in Darlington at 4.15 when I left work. A much cooler 30 degrees in Durham when I got home half an hour later. That's 30+ degrees. In the north east of England. Where summer is usually a few hours on a Wednesday in May.

I keep hearing about a heat wave over there but the temperatures actually look really nice.

It's weird to be honest - heat back home I can deal with, and we get 35-40C summers. If it gets past 25 here it's like as if it's near boiling point temperature for some reason.
