The weather where you live right now...

How hot was it last night mate.

It was stifling mate, wasn't it? I had to keep the fan on most of the night & kipped (Or tried to kip) on top of the duvet.

Been awake since 3:40am. Was watching the lightning over the N.Wales coast a few mins later.

Nice weather now, though. No doubt when I go out later it'll lash down.

I agree with you there kid,

I keep hearing about a heat wave over there but the temperatures actually look really nice.
I suppose that depends on the type of weather to which you are acclimatised? When I was young our summers rarely went over about 26 degrees, but our winters would usually drop to around -4. We would have four proper seasons, and winter would feature a good six weeks of snow.

Nowadays in the same part of Britain we don't get any snow and winter, which now lasts about ten days, barely reaches zero.

Summer hitting 32 and 33 degrees is painful because of what the first 20 years of my life acclimatised me to, and because the UK is not set up for that type of heat: our trains, buses and public buildings all have heating but rarely come equipped with aircon; our residential homes are all heavily insulated and centrally-heated but again rarely come with aircon; even our cars struggle - Mrs. Tree's car has aircon, but the lowest it goes is 16 degrees... 16 degrees is 6 degrees higher than the point at which we turn the central heating off at home!
