My uncle had 12 kids. My grandfather had 10 kids. I only got 2 siblings however though. Not having a pop.... But why do you want 6?
Is four not enough for you and your wife? Is it the norm in your family? Do you feel pressured into having more? How many siblings do you have?
Personally, I can't see why people feel the need to continue pumping out more and more kids so I'm genuinely curious to understand why you think it's necessary.
We had a very different outlook on life and our mentality did not align. I'm more traditional and wanted to have loads of kids, but the girl was very career-oriented instead. We moved on and such is life.Tell us more. After engagement were you allowed to touch your lady? Did you marry her? Has she acquiesced to sexual activity during marriage?
I feel a full and Frank disclosure will help put to bed these terrible accusations levelled at you by @Moomin
Sorry to hear that mate, I hope you found that happy homemaker. We had a very different outlook on life and our mentality did not align. I'm more traditional and wanted to have loads of kids, but the girl was very career-oriented instead. We moved on and such is life.
Thanks for the comprehensive answer. My uncle had 12 kids. My grandfather had 10 kids. I only got 2 siblings however though.
For me, having a lot of kids is associated with status and pride. If you actually look at most high status males, they all have loads of kids. Elon Musk has 12 kids for example. You could say pressure. My family all averaged great amount of kids and I have the weight of the surname, to live up to the hope. After all, my family are Evangelical baptists and it's commonly believed that faith encourages procreation as much as possible. In the South of USA, having 6 kids is not uncommon at all. Mormons in the USA tend to have around 8 kids!
Not to mention, the low fertility rate is basically killing the West. If you look at what Elon Musk says, he is predicting an economical/population bust due to how woeful the birth rates have been and the birth rates have been far below the replacement level for a while now. The society is going a very backwards way in my opinion and we and our children will deal with the consequences very soon.
But like Elon ( the worlds second richest man) do you have the means to support this family? My uncle had 12 kids. My grandfather had 10 kids. I only got 2 siblings however though.

I would imagine times were very different when your uncle and grandfather were having there childrenMy uncle had 12 kids. My grandfather had 10 kids. I only got 2 siblings however though.

I wouldn't say "relative failures" but there's always that feeling of "what-if" but wealth was always more important to my family. I mean, you can make all the money in the world but what's truly the point of the money if you have no children to spend the money on or to pass it on when you're dead. Thanks for the comprehensive answer.
Based on your uncle and grandfather, are your parents viewed as relative failures in the offspring sense, and you and your siblings hope to restore a bit of immediate family pride?
I also appreciate the religious angle, every sperm is sacred and all that, but surely common sense has to come into play at some point?
The population cycle is what it is because people are better educated and don't see the need to spit out child after child. Status symbol or not. It's no surprise the population explosion continues unchecked in what is commonly known as the third world, they don't know any better.
Society is only 'going backwards' (your words) because preachers fear the brown man.
Cheers.
Yer da’s sperm was trying to escape from yer ma.I wouldn't say "relative failures" but there's always that feeling of "what-if" but wealth was always more important to my family. I don't really believe in the whole sperm is sacred thing but of course, religion plays a role in understand why procreation is so beneficial for mankind.
I don't like this whole "education" thing. The upper-class people generally have the most kids in society, not the poor working-class so it's asinine to tie birthrates with education. If you look at British aristocrats, they tend to average over 5 kids usually. Aristocrats/higher class people have a status to preserve.
