The winter of Englands discontent?

I noticed that about Richards and in fact pointed this out on the a previous thread that it was all very well going upfield but he never stretched his legs to get leaving diddy SWP to cover or for Campbell to come across. In fact for their second goal where was Richards?

Hopefully this will provide the catalyst to really revamp the youth coaching in Britain so that we start producing players that aren't out-skilled by eastern European minnows every time we play them.

you might get accused of talking out of your arse for that last bit, and also the swp had an ok half bit too.

the sun shines out of saint beckhams ass, thats why he is immune, we can get whopped 9 - 1 so long as HRH becksy gets an assist.

Oh, and that was about as much of a penalty as the Gerrard one against us. Yes he had his shirt tugged (once) but that's no reason to wait a few seconds until he knew he'd never get the ball before falling over. We all shouted and screamed when Gerrard did that to us so lets call a spade a spade.

hear f*****g hear.

its the inbreds that are the hypocrits, lets keep it that way.

I'm a bit gutted to be honest. Yes I'm an Evertonian first and foremost, but watching England in tournaments with all your mates is quality. Next summer will now be rubbish :( A Levels and not even England matches to look forward to

get some more studying done, its ok, england will flop at plenty more tournaments over plenty more summers. have no fear, FA incompetence is here to stay.

It's been a quite turgid fall from grace for the golden generation. I proudly predicted that this team could win the 2006 World Cup. Gerrard and Lampard had recently placed 2nd and 3rd in the World Player of the Year, Chelsea had swept all before them with the two Cole's and Terry at the forefront. Even Beckham was enjoying a swansong of sorts at Real. It was all looking so promising. Oh and it was being played in Europe. Surely everything was in place. I was sucked in by the excuses after tepid performances that they would improve when it really mattered.

Now just 18 months on and it's all changed. Gerrard and Lampard look spent forces. Becks is in semi-retirement. The lack of depth in the squad cruelly exposed. And the golden generation left to lick their wounds. I've lost faith in England completely and in international football in general.

As a general football fan one can enjoy phenomenal displays of skill and technique played at incredible pace every weekend by Arsenal, Man Utd, Barca et al. That's the kind of football I want to see, it's a joy to behold. If that isn't on show then I want my heart to be into it like it is with Everton. Sadly with England neither the heart or the head gives a toss any more. From requiring some numpty to sing the national anthem when you have 80,000 Englishmen on hand to the turgid displays that usually follow the spectacle is indeed a poor one.

Holding his arm up appealing for offside. All the way through to when the Croatian player was at the sideline hunched over.......Micah Richards still had his arm up.

For me mclaren is clueless why when your 1st choice back 4 are injured do you drop an experienced keeper and play a youngster who has had 1 game in england colours against a [Poor language removed] austria side,i could go on but we all know he is not up to the job and my main worry is the fa they are clueless why choose him in the first place barwicks dodgy tash would do a better job than mclaren.
On the beckham issue why did mclaren leave the best crosser of a ball on the bench and play crouch pointless.
Also with beckham whatever you think of him he showed more heart and passion than anybody else in the midfield and as for lampard he went off cleaner than when he started did you see his kit

Being a [Poor language removed] bag the dirt was on the inside:angry:

Too many players didnt perform. We need a manager that is not afraid to drop the big names for players that are performing regularly.

We cannot put too much blame on the manager though- the players were woeful. There was no passion and at teh end of the day they just werent good enough.

I would love it if Mourinho was the new manager!
