People would be saying the same if Sigurdsson, Bolasie, Klaassen, Sandro etc were about sign.

It's £20m on a player who really isn't up to much. Just look at that Arsenal team and they're happy to let him go. It's got all the hallmarks of everyone else we've signed lately.
But 20ml isn't a lot of money for a proven player who has played at the highest levels, the 4 you mention have not played at these levels... so I guess a prudent signing

Once upon a time signing Theo Walcott would have been seen as a good move, not now. If he was the player he used to be then he wouldn't be allowed to leave Arsenal.

If our business had been excellent in the summer then I wouldn't be so bothered. I really feel like there is no room for error with the players we bring in and this signing just stinks of more of what we've already got.

Absolutely all over the place as to whether this is a decent signing or not.

We need hungry and keen to impress, not incredibly wealthy and not giving a toss any more.

Season's over already. Why not take time to blood in Lookman and Vlasic to get them up to speed come pre-season, rather than buy a has been who Arsenal fans can't see the back of quick enough?

I JUST DON'T GET IT!!
Wouldnt even call him a has been. More like a could of and should of been and still isnt

When fit he's pretty good still, though that's in a more talented side than ours. Keeping him on the pitch is another matter entirely.

I just dont see what we're trying to achieve at this club. The purchasing seems to be without any rhyme or reason.

Tosun in and then a LB. That's what we should have done in January. They were the two glaring omissions. The season's well gone, so just fix the obvious problems and get a plan ready for the summer.

*sigh*

clearly we need a left back. no doubt we have earmarked one, who may not be available this window

30+ appearances in 9 of the last 11 seasons. 35+ in 7 of those. 40+ in 3. (Bearing in mind he wasn't a guaranteed starter for much of the time).

The only 2 seasons he dipped below 30 were the two that were impacted by his cruciate injury. Played 21 games in the remainder of the season after returning from that injury, and 42 and 37 games in the following two seasons.

He's hardly Mr Glass.
