I think as a fan base we need to consider whether we're deluding ourselves.

Look at Everton objectively, remove the tinted glasses and consider how attractive Big Sam's Everton currently is.

You need to run before you can walk, and we're crawling at the moment.

I just hope Tosun/Walcott are Walsh signings to justify him not being first out the door after Koeman - by justify, I mean the continuation argument.

We shouldn't give Allardyce a penny in my view, because I'm convinced he was brought in as a last resort amid panic to get us through the season without a total relegation collapse.

Not that I think we will go down but I at least will give Moshiri some credit in that he’s stumped up 40 Mill plus in the Jan window on two strikers both in prime age with CL experience. Even if they’re both not here in a year or two the loss on them pales into insignificance in comparison to slipping out the league.

Least we’ve got a credible strike force until the end of the season. Whether Allardyce can get the best out of them is another question.

Laughing at people who are underwhelmed by this. He'd waltz into any side in the league apart from those in the top six. And even then he'd be useful for any of those sides from the bench or even occasionally as a starter. Is Oxlade-Chamberlain really better than him? No. Is Rashford that much better? No. Batshuayi better? No. It's a superb signing and he's hopefully got the three best years of his career ahead of him yet.

It's because people still think that because United done it 22 years ago this May that every club should be building a team with homegrown/bought in young talent, difference being not every club's manager has the same faith Sir Alex had with the Nevilles, Scholes, Butt, Beckham and the like back then, it's all about the here and now for some
Credit to Ferguson for having faith in the young players
But even he had the sense to have a spine of seasoned top professionals around them
Schmecal( so) Stan Ferdinand Keane Cantona Etc all gave the youngsters a platform.
Ferguson bought an aArsenal reject in RVP at 29 and won the league because of him
You need a mix of ages and a few old heads to help the young lads along
Our ( as someone else said not me ) youth team the best in Europe struggled against League 1 opposition this season and lads want to play them in the PL

oh you joker

"Number 11, and please welcome to Goodison Park, Theo Walcott"

"Waheeyy"

"Number 15, Cuco Martina."

"Boooo"

You just know what's going to happen Saturday. Garbutt gets registered this week and plays LB (Waheeey!), Kenny gets dropped and Number 15 Cuco Martina slots in in his place (Booooooo!)!
