It's an underwhelming signing, but I think he'll do OK. Even at £20m, he still represents better value than some of the other duds.

Something has to change in the summer, though. Everton will struggle to catch Leicester, never mind Arsenal, if they persist with the current recruitment set up.

It’s Zatmania gone mad
Don’t see many teams in the top 6 with 5/6 under 23s in their starting 11

It's because people still think that because United done it 22 years ago this May that every club should be building a team with homegrown/bought in young talent, difference being not every club's manager has the same faith Sir Alex had with the Nevilles, Scholes, Butt, Beckham and the like back then, it's all about the here and now for some

I think as a fan base we need to consider whether we're deluding ourselves.

Look at Everton objectively, remove the tinted glasses and consider how attractive Big Sam's Everton currently is.

You need to run before you can walk, and we're crawling at the moment.

I just hope Tosun/Walcott are Walsh signings to justify him not being first out the door after Koeman - by justify, I mean the continuation argument.

We shouldn't give Allardyce a penny in my view, because I'm convinced he was brought in as a last resort amid panic to get us through the season without a total relegation collapse.

both are clearly Allardyce signings. He's going to be here at least for the duration of his contract

Agree with this, if he's here next season I'll be staggered. We need to have a plan in place and as soon as the final game is done get on with appointing a new man and letting him sort pre-season and summer targets.

I mean it's Everton so that won't happen, but it's what I'd like to see.

Absolutely vital. But we all know it's going to be a manger switch midseason while we sit 3rd bottom in the table.
