My initial point was not made in response to you, but the general negativity towards him, which includes but is not restricted to, the type and quality of player we have signed. Your response to me, was to argue that he has failed without equally being able to tell me what his role is or should be and what he has specifically failed in.

As for left back, identifying, scouting, tracking, bidding, buying are all different things. Like I say, you have no reason, other than the fact we have yet to sign a top left back, that we have not done any of the aforementioned levels, and again, there still needs to be an agreement between him and the management team, as well as the negotiations with the other team. You could also suggest that that Lewis Gibson, who we spent £6m on in August is an example of the forward thinking for a player in that position, but whatever, I'm not precious.

I at no point said he was only a director of recruitment, although I assume he would have that as 1 of his many roles he has to balance.

My initial point, was and continues to be, that he appears to be something of an intermediary scape goat for our team under performing, and I feel, especially given I don't know the ins and outs of his performance agreement, that it's a bit harsh, and that the majority of our current woes land squarely at the feet of a manager who we foolishly believed knew what he was doing, and he was tracked and appointed before Walsh was, so it all seems a bit reactionary.

His role going forward is not something that will be fixed overnight and the fact we are now faced with sorting a mess out mid season as we are, his influence is only going to be marginalised again, while we fight for survival.

Posts like that have no place on an Everton forum
Boo Boo I say
Reasoned rational well thought out posts are like tumbleweed in the wind on here
I commend you sir on an excellent post.
It’s like lads on here blaming Moshiri.
He didn’t sign Martina , he doesn’t pick him every week and I hardly think he told Koeman / Walsh when Rom was sold that we will go with DCL for the season

I never thought I’d see the day where Everton are soo desperate to signing a 29 yr old past it Arsenal left over lol. I think I’m done watching for the season until big Sam and Walsh are gone in the summer. The worst season I have ever witnessed as a evertonian. We need big changes this summer dump half the squad Rooney included

There are always reservations if a player will work for us like he did for his previous team, but what we do know is he had raw pace can cross the ball and is a good finisher.

You cannot go far wrong with those attributes in this league.

In terms of pace only Lennon in our squad comes close but he lacks the other two, finishing and crossing.

There is a fine player there but not sure where he fits into our current smorgasbord of a team.
Walcott right wing
Siggy middle
Bolassie left wing ( his natural position
Tosun up front
All depends on a decent LB being found /bought of course
With those 4 up front and 6 players capable of defending properly ( which is sams forte we should win more that we lose.
Pace on either wing
Creative midfielder who can pick a pass and hopefully a striker who can score a goal or two.
Defend deep ( because we can’t defend high up the pitch ) and pace on the counter attack

20 million quid for a washed-up, failed version of what Lookman could some day become... but won't because we'll be playing Walcott's disinterested remains ahead of him.

Nothing left to play for this year - the perfect chance to invest in building a coherent tactical system, and giving the best youth side in England critical top flight experience.

Instead, we're squandering ridiculous sums on overpriced has-beens so our overpriced has-been manager can tread water.

I miss the days when we were poor but smart.

Washed up? 'Kin hell he's under 30, not in his 50's. Still has his pace, knows where the net is and wants to be playing regular football which he'll get here. Lookman will get his chances but needs to have a spell on loan, what we should have done a year ago when we signed him

Do you think we could attract players who actually play for top four competing teams?!
There’s soo much talent outside of the Epl it’s not even funny. if only we had a real scout and not Steve Walsh... he’s short sighted and narrow minded. We should have signed Emre Mor when we had the chance... big fail on our part

The funny thing is he was the fella who came up with Kante and Mahrez. Shocking how his recruitment has changed since coming to us.
