I wonder if he’ll be classed as a flop by end of Jan or make it to Feb, then by March he will be a hero. Get injured in April and be a flop again.

It’s the same for most players threads on here.

Three massive positives with this transfer:

1. Aaron Lennon is no longer a regular starter
2. Sigurdsson moves to his preferred position since Bolasie will play on the left and Walcott on the right
3. It's even less likely that Rooney will play as number 10

That is all good news.

I'm all for optimism, but i cant see him playing 2 out and out wingers...

Agree with this, if he's here next season I'll be staggered. We need to have a plan in place and as soon as the final game is done get on with appointing a new man and letting him sort pre-season and summer targets.

I mean it's Everton so that won't happen, but it's what I'd like to see.

Going by the most recent BFS utterings - and by God there's no shortage of them - I'd say it's clear that he's been told he has 18 months to prove that he can a) avoid relegation and then b) get us playing attacking, winning football. If after 18 months (or maybe less if it's already obvious) he's not on track, he knows he'll be given the boot. But I bet he's been given the incentive - the sniff of a juicy new contract - to try, rather than being told you're in for 18 months then you're off. Saying that, that would all be weasel words, and anyway is no different to any prem league manager at any time in their tenure.

Point being I s'pose, he knows he has 18 months to turn it around. Lord knows who's calling the transfer shots though. Probably Dear Bill for all the good it's done so far...

Of course he will. Now we at least have good attacking options until the end of the season. I'd still like to see Bolasie shifted out of the starting XI, a better winger brought in and second good striker signed too. Hopefully we can do that in the summer.
