Do let me know a striker that has played for us for ten seasons in the premier league please mate in the same period as Walcott played for Arsenal :hayee::hayee::hayee::hayee:

Duncan Ferguson. Let me make it even harder, let me know of a player we've had that had EVEN 70% of the goals Walcott does?

And if I recall what I contested from a couple of pages ago was not who had played for us a lot, but that you said Walcott had a dodgy scoring record, which is just fantastically false. In fact, Duncan Ferguson only had 60 goals in 10 years. Cahill 56 in 8 years, Lukaku is literally the only forward we have had in the premier league era that would have more goals than Walcott in 10 years.

The only thing dodgy here is your irrational hatred of the guy :hayee::hayee::hayee::hayee:

Kanchelskis was a world class player wasn't with us for that long but was head and shoulders above the rest of them just a great player mate. I hope Walcott does it for us obviously, I haven't seen anything but pace in all the years he's played though. For me he's average, he pays more attention to his appearance than on his performance which is typical of the modern day brewstered football players.

Agree with the Kanchelskis viewpoint.

I can still see him in the blue shirt , even after all these years.

Or we sign a talented youngsters ( Stones, Lukaku for instance) who we nurture for a few seasons , sell them at a profit, and replace them?

The debate goes both ways, if we sign proven players , if we sign talented youngsters both will need replacing eventually.

Yes we make money off the youngsters, but then, to your point , do we go out and buy more youngsters?, so in fact turning us into a feeder club?

A successful club has a balance of youth and experience.

Go back a couple of pages and look at the majority of our summer signings, all under the age of 25.

Add Siggy ,Rooney and now Walcott and you have a blend of talented youngsters with bags of potential and experienced internationals in their prime ( Siggy, Walcott ).

I would also hope that we are now weighing up players character as well as ability.

For all the hope of building a side based around a spine of Stones, Barkley and Lukaku, Rom was on his way out in the press conference when we unveiled him after his loan. Barkley ultimately kicked his boyhood club in the teeth and Stones cried the first time Chelsea flashed their eyelashes at him. IF we want to progress we need players that want to be here to push the club on.

Some of the summer purchases have either not adapted or just don't seem willing to even try and settle (waves at Sandro).

Everton need to build a side for today asap whilst trying to establish a long term sustainable and successful team.

Duncan Ferguson played from 2006-2018 did he mate?:hayee::hayee::hayee::hayee::hayee:

Theo Walcott, playing aside fantastic attacking players like Henry, Fabregas, Sanchez, Ozil, you name it, 65 goals in 270 games (goal every 4.15 games). All that brilliance and creativity around him and that's all he managed.

Your example (which ignores the point I made, but hey ho) played in two of the worst eras for Everton and has 58 goals in 230 matches (goal every 3.9 games) and people would say that was a poor return.

He was outstanding. Seeing him in full flow was worth the admission fee. We need a player with that special ability to light up a game.
I hope a move away from Arsenal will help Walcott refocus on what made him such a special talent as a teenager.

Agree 100%

In all fairness if you look at our business this last 12 months i think we are trying, apart from left back, but that's another debate.

We have signed some (potentially) very good youngsters and some established premier league and international proven players too.

Everybody starting a new job in a different city/country whether a footballer or not, needs time to settle in, its human nature that some take longer than others to settle.

Who doesn't?

A player I loved watching no matter who he played for.

Meanwhile...arsenal bought walcott when he was 16..so surely that needs to be taken into account?

I guess people have differing opinions...
