If we were selling Bolasie and Lennon then yes.

As we probably aren't selling Bolasie and Lennon then NO.

We should be playing Lookman and Vlasic to be ready for next season.

At this rate we'll have Bolasie and Walcott on the wings...shambles.

Yeah what a shambles have 2 quality prem proven wingers with a bunch of assists and goals. Couldn't think of anything worse. AND we have 2 promising kids as rotation/competition/back up?! Crazy times.

Get Cleverley back out wide ffs

Considering we started the season with 2 out of DCL Klaasen or Sandro on the wings then Bolasie and Walcott don’t look too bad.

I know, for ages we’ve been banging on about lack of pace, lack of productivity, lack of options to rotate, lack of players in their prime. Allardyce goes out and spends money on 2 attackers in their prime CL experience, good goal records, with pace, and people kick off because Dowell has done ok at Nottingham Forest. Couldn’t make it up.

I’d much rather see a decent CM being signed than Walcott, he’s decent enough but I’d rather Vlasic given a chance than get a few years out of Walcott before his legs are gone.
Vlasic is actually a CM
We play him out of position on the wing.
Bolassie is a left winger and we play him on the right
Everton that

Lennon is dire though.

the job of a winger is supposed to be to provide an attacking threat, assists and goals. He does none of this and has been getting used as support for defence. He's not good enough for where we want to be.

I'd be quite happy to see us bring Walcott in as he is better than what we have currently. I do think Lookman will become a better player but currently Walcott is a better player with more goal scoring threat. Was never a massive Bolasie fan and Walcott offers much more end product. Add to the fact we can play him as a second striker off either Cenk or DCL and it gives us much more option and importantly the pace to stretch teams on the counter. Bit odd that we have prioritised this signing though ahead of a left back..... I'm quite surprised that if we had the money for Walcott that we hadn't gone for N'Zonzi but maybe Sam has decided he is happy with McCarthy and Schneiderlin for now and that goals are more important than shoring us up even more at the back?

@roydo can you threadmark this

Everton manager Sam Allardyce says the club is negotiating with Arsenal to sign Theo Walcott on a permanent deal.

Allardyce said the 28-year-old forward would be a "fantastic addition", who would offer "goalscoring threat".

He added: "If it's possible to be over the line I'd be delighted. It's not imminent but negotiations are ongoing."

Not to put a dampened on it here but a straight choice between us and Southampton I have a feeling Walcott chooses Southampton if deals are identical.

Small chance of him accepting us over them as we are better placed long term. But can see staying in the south being a big draw for him especially as he has never been further than London his whole career
If he goes to Southampton he may be travelling all the way to the championship
