He can't get in a rank average 6th placed side , how can that be the type of player who can improve us long term a terrible shortsighted signing. We should be scouring europe for the next potential top 4 players with the type of money were throwing around and instead were signing keane, schneiderlin, bolaise and now walcott for big money and wages. We are Newcastle under Graeme Souness I'm embarrased
So......obviously you feel that Sanchez, Ozil and Lacazette are second rate and that players on our current squad or those we are able to sign would be able to displace....? Hardly think losing time on the pitch to those 3 is reason to call Walcott rubbish.

Also, in this world - much as we may wish it were not so - 20M is not big money.

To me bottom line is he would improve us the moment he walks in the door. Also, serves as a bridge until the Lookmans/Vlasics of the world are ready (they are not, but in a couple of years, maybe)

this isn't building anything he'll get us to 7th and in 2 years will be eating up the wage bill with no sell on fee , how is that building for the future ?
Football isn’t about building for the future it’s about winning now and he is better than Lennon simple.

Love how some people seem to think every signing we make has to be a promising youngster either that or it’s expecting the sort of signing that’s completely out of reach.
We’re pretty well stocked with “potential” right now (not saying we should stop) but we can’t just play 11 “potentials” week in week out.
We need players for right now as well. Someone said earlier “if it was that easy then we’d just drop 40m on Sanchez”. Exactly right. We cannot attract that level of player.
Like it or not any improvements will be incremental and then keep your fingers crossed more than just one youngster turns into a superstar at the same time.
Walcott would more than likely improve the team. That’s a good thing.

On fifa its great to sign players with big potential and move them on for big transfer fees. A lot are basing their opinions on that

Totally agree, there are the top 6 side all the top players are at those clubs and only fringe players wouldn't come here, so whether some fans like it or not we have to target the best of the rest players, at this moment in time that's Walcott is. when signed Pickford,Keane,Sigs,Snides were all that type of signings, they would struggle to get in any of the top 6 sides but would get into the 7th team, which where I see us THE BEST OF THE REST even though that's not our current position.

Point I'm making is I can't see arsenal letting two attacking players leave without signing a replacement. That's what will delay it more than us
You could be right.Although Wenger said he wont stand in his way.
Even if Sanchez goes Walcott has Lacazette Welbeck, Giroud & Iwobi infront of him.
Think this will be done early next week.

He is not of top 4 standard now , this is vital money being flushed away when we could be taking a chance on some young potential which is what our scouting system is there to do . we should be looking for the next griezmann, lewandowski, kante, mahrez the list is endless of top players who have been bought cheap from smaller clubs, but we are just going after any average premier league who is available.

I think we need a quick fix tbf. Finding up and coming stars is like finding a needle in a haystack. That's why only a few clubs have them. We've had potential stars and they've flopped big style.

All those saying no to Theo as he is not good enough, please tell me who we could get that would offer 18 goals in a season from the wing with limited game time, is a proven prem player and is only around £20 mil... seriously, please tell me who you think should boss our left wing with these credentials.
A lot of fans are under illusion that we are bigger than we are and can buy top top players, that's isn't the case the top players will be at the top 6 sides. We are not so we have to try and sign best of the rest players, either good players from below 6 teams or fringe players from the top 6 sides. Walcott is exactly that type of player ATM and they are the players we need to sign to get nearer the top 6, I'd be more than happy with him coming here, to the fans that don't want him just look at our attacking this season 75% of the time it's been non existent, I'm abit fed up now with Sigs trying to supply DCL and absolutely nothing ever come from it. Tosun and Walcott would should improve that massively.

Gonna be fab when his pace goes, as it's all he's bringing to the table. If he wants more than 50k a week, I'd swerve him like a fresh dog pile.

...to think you could get an experienced, proven, decent level prem player... at 50k a week... Lee Carsley probably earnt that from us... over 10yrs ago.

You win. I bit at that one
