2019/20 Theo Walcott

The chance in the 2nd half where hes clean through defines Walcott in is his decision making is the worst I've seen.
He just needs to run with the ball but instead overhits a simple pass out for a throw in, braindead.
He did look pretty sharp in the first half though. If Carlo can get him to play like he did in the 1st half consistently, and with slightly better decision making he can still be a quality player here.

He has never really got into playing for us.... it's almost like football was a job he never wanted. A bit like 20 years ago, loads of blokes who weren't even arsed about DIY trained to become plumbers so they could earn good coin.

You cant fake things.... if you haven't got football in your blood or you have a winning mentality then it doesn't matter if you are as takented as Messi or Pele- you will never be a good footballer.

Serious question: Would he be a pro player if he wasn't fast? I dont think he would personally.

Probably not at the level he has been at but there are probably a fair few players like that. To be fair its like saying would Messi be any good if he didn't have any legs.

There is absolutely no way he would have been a pro footballer at any level without his pace.

Sadly he lacks a yard of his old pace and cant seem to play more than 60 minutes these days.

The incredibly poor 4 yard pass that would have had Richarlison clean on goal in the first half sums him up. If an 8 year old kid in the school team had done that there would have been a collective groan.

His decision making is genuinely atrocious. That's what separates good and great players from the rest, 99/100 they will make the correct pass or make the correct run. The ones who master this aspect of the game are your greats, the rest end up at Everton.

Walcott has a decent attitude and still has plenty of pace , coming on as a sub he can stretch teams and can help relieve pressure when you are doing a lot of defending.
He is an all round player but certainly has a part to play and if he had a more pacy , more creative central midfield he may be even more useful.
