Have seen him try to chip a few or clip them in and miss, all about decision making which he probably needs to improve. I personally think he offers us something different upfront or on the wing with his pace, he just needs to find some consistency to his game in a good way.

He does give us balance and he is an outlet with his pace but his finishing and decision making is awful for a 31 year old experienced player. We need to upgrade on him in the summer.

If he had been able to add a bit more to his game as a younger player including improved finishing and being more aware of what was happening around him he could have been totally out of our reach .

If Pep had gotten his hands on him as a young player he would have improved him enormously as he did with Sterling.

He seems to make really really intelligent runs, and gets into very dangerous positions. He just can’t pass or shoot.

I think if he had ever developed the ability to play consistent through balls when running at pace, like the low ball across goal. Or a goal scoring instinct similar to Richarlison or any decent striker, he would have been a very good champions league player.

But he never did, and now he’s lost a yard or two, he’s really quite poor and infuriating.
 
Have to admit that I initially had high hopes for him .. this was reinforced further after his first 6 months with us - he was instantly our best player for a little period and looked a class above everyone else on the team.

Since then though he’s been completely underwhelming, just doesn’t really look arsed anymore and has lost that competitive drive. It’s a similar story to Schneiderlin actually - there was an initial honeymoon period but after that fizzled out they’ve both just turned into mercenaries who seem happy to collect their healthy wages whilst producing very little on the pitch

Not sure I'd get rid, we would make a loss on him bit also there is still a chance we can get Europa League, and if so we will need squad players
 
He's the only natural winger we have in the squad unfortunately, and the only one who's naturally suited to the right side too. Silva and Brands spoke loads of a left footed player who prefers to play on the right, shame we never got that mysterious player in.
