2020/21 Theo Walcott

I like how he said he had a few clubs interested but when he heard Saints wanted him he wanted to go there.

No mate, your agent rang every club on the planet to try get you a move no one rang you.

It's like he expects us all to forget Southampton were in for him when he left Arsenal and he said no.

I remember when he signed for us he talked about how he'd 'fallen out of love' with football during his time with Arsenal. Started well with us under the Fat Slob but gradually his enthusiasm, or whatever it is, seemed to ebb away and his good form disappeared. I can understand that, to some extent, when playing under someone as uninspiring as Silva but there are no excuses when someone like Carlo is in charge. In the last 18 months he's reminded me of someone working a mundane 9-5 job: clocks in, keeps his head down, just does enough to get by, then clocks off and, in his case, goes home to his mansion.

No passion, a bit like another ex-Southampton player we ended up with, Schneiderlin, though not as bad.

Perhaps going back to his first club will rekindle his love of the game, at least for a while, but whatever he does I'm glad he's gone.

The Saints fans haven't.

Despite those silly Sky comments few are excited by his return, just pragmatic about him being a cost effective bench player who is better than what they currently have on offer.

They know he'll be off for a final pay day come seasons end. Remember the Saints current impact sub is Shane 'one goal a season' Long, but if Walcott wants to be a starter he'll have to perform rather better than the last 2 years.

Absolutely made up he's gone even if its a loan he had became USELESS

He is such a bad footballer, the fact that he has been a top earner for so long
at AFC and EFC proves that..

....still think he’s England’s youngest ever full international.

i‘ve never minded him and always thought we looked better balanced when he played. I’m not saying I’m sorry to see him go, but I like that he’s a wide player who gets himself in goalscoring positions when many others don’t put in that effort.

There was a late away goal he scored last season (maybe at Watford) where he sprinted out of our box when we broke. He kept up with the speedy break and was on hand to tap in when the keeper parried. Many players wouldn’t have gone on that run in the dying minutes of a game, but he did.

Always had the speed but usually always opts for the wrong ball. If his decision making was better he would have been superb.
Yes it was Watford away scored the winner 3-2

But how many does he score?
