Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean...do you mean BAYC as a stand-in for "based"? I also understand 'based' to mean "real" or "authentic", but I've also seen it used in incel circles to mean something similar to "red pilled" i.e., waking up and speaking the truth. (edit: I had to do research on incels for one of my classes).

Sounds like an edgelord term of approval.

Based is a term that was originally used to describe people who were addicted to freebase cocaine aka crack, think it was used heavily in 80s america. It regained prominence around 2008-2010 when the rapper Lil B who was often called based (as an insult) decided to adopt the negative term and instead redefine it in his eyes to mean being true to yourself and not changing based on others opinions or something along those lines. He used the term relentlessly in promotion etc and the terms meaning basically changed.

Then in the past 5 or so years its been adopted by edgybois and racists to basically praise people with racist and far right view points, it still means the same thing... its just they think their racists views etc are the truth and keeping it real.

Plenty of people still use the term who aren't wronguns though

Sadly John Terry will be absolutely fine even if his grift goes completely tits up. It’s the people that didn’t have the money to waste that will be screwed by this that upsets me. Same as with crypto. There are definitely positive uses for both but currently the market is just full of scammers who want to make a quick buck and get out with no regard of who they are screwing in the process
