If rumours are to be confirmed the late Flo-Jo was on the same thing I understand. I just hope that detection levels increase exponentially because the cheats methods also advance:huh:
 
This is why I find it hard to believe that footballers (and other sports) are clean. I can appreciate that athletics and cycling rely more than most on pure physical prowess but more and more sports such as football, rugby and tennis rely on physical fitness to provide an edge. Are we seriously to believe that the first two sports are riddled with drug abusers and all of the latter are cleaner than clean?
 
this is marion we're talking about , yes ?? i recall these same allegations being raised prior to the sydney games , where she swore on a stacka bibles that it wasn't so . meanwhile , she and her family have reaped the rewards for some 7 years . now , shes swearing on those same bibles that shes sorry . as me arl fella woulda said , my irish arse !! even when the coach fella came out against montgomery , and hinted , strongly that she was in the know , she kept up the poker faced denial . hoping , i assume , to stay one chemical masking agent ahead of the testas . now listen , ive imbibed the odd intoxicating substance in my time , more than 1 , many more , however , im not a pro athlete and role model to thousands . shes an head working cow whos only throwing her hands up coz shes bang-to-rights . good riddance . lcab

I'm pleased that some form of drug testing is started in golf, even beatablockers would constitute a form of cheating in that game(y)
 
I just wonder quite how stringent testing is in many sports. Athletics and cycling are high profile in this area and the testing in both sports is pretty stringent, and even then people find ways around it.

It was reported not many weeks ago that Andrew Johns, the former Australian rugby league captain, was a regular recreational drug user throughout his career and he never once tested positive because the drug testing system allowed plenty of scope to get around it. I'm really inclined to think that a lot of sports fall into this category, including football. I mean lets face it, Ferdinand was only banned because he's dummer than a bag of hammers.
 
there is enough money in football to test every pro player every week.

look at mutu, chelsea saw an opportunity to recoup some costs and expel him, i wonder how many other clubs have spies watching their respective players.

be nice to test refs and linesmen as well :D

Well this is just it, with many modern drugs all trace can be removed using masking agents if people are given enough warning in advance of a looming test. I think many people would be quite shocked at the lengths cycling goes to in its testing and they still manage to miss people. I bet other sports miss a truck load to be honest.

What you say is perfectly true Bruce and long may the powers that be endeavour to track cheats down. I suppose at some stage someone will suggest that drugs be allowed but then the only winner will be the chemist and he is the guy who is the main cheat now by making these things available(y)
