...I think a long hard season at Manchester City has taken its toll on Sterling and De Bruyne. They look wary and I fear they won’t be at their best next season.

Be a hard game for the players to get up for after the emotional and physical drain of losing a semi-final.

Continuing to knacker out the likes of Henderson, Sterling, Lingard, Lukaku, Alli, Hazard, de Bruyne etc. before the start of the PL season can only help Everton though. And by god we need all the help we can get.

@davek do you have any interest in this match?
Yes. It should be taken seriously and will be by Belgium. They are motivated to be the team to at least get further than any other Belgian team in WC history...and if Southgate's "philosophy" and the "new England" are as good as their word and are an honest and humble team then they'll take it seriously too...otherwise all the porpaganada around them this past 3 weeks has been BS.

..Belgium reserves have already beaten England reserves in this tournament. The players will want to come home now.
Pity it's a compulsory game, the players don't have that option yet.
But Belgium will have had a day extra to get over it both emotionally and physically.

At least now both teams won't rest the best players

Really very hard to think England winning the bronze here, 1 day less rest, a travel to Saint Petersburg (Belgium played the SF there anyway), ET against Croatia, I doubt our players had any legs or focus. But surely winning the bronze will be still great for this young squad. Something England at 1990 WC failed to do.

I am about as interested in this as i was listening to an Allardyce Press Conference.

I'll be working at a wedding when the match is on. I'll keep an eye on the score but probably wouldn't have bothered to watch it even if I was at home. Hopefully the wedding guests won't be bothered either.

Easy win for Belgium with a Lukaku hat-trick to take the golden boot.

If anyone isn't bothered about the game itself but wants to make a bit of cash on the result, get money on over 2.5 goals as the last 7 3rd place games have had 3 or more goals in them, generally ending in a 2-1 or 3-2 scoreline with the most one sided game being Sweden's 4-0 win over Bulgaria in 1994
