Gravo isn't a bad player he's just been type casted as a no nonsense Defensive midfielder....probably because of his Mad Dog nickname which proves real madrid scouting system is bollocks because anyone with half a brain can see that he excels at pushing a team forward not cutting down opponents counter attacks....thats what Carsley is for.

Great post Zero, my feelings exactly. We need squad players, TG would settle in straight away as he knows most of the squad and backroom staff already(y)

He might do that, but Tommy is not the player he was when he left us. But maybe Moyes can bring out the best of him again.

GD, if people cast their minds back to when he left he did so with, imo, great grace and manners. No one on this earth could fault his commitment to this club and who could blame him for accepting an offer to play at Real Madrid. Subsequent events have certainly dented his confidence but I feel if we have him as a squad player then it may just bring that spark he needs to resurrect his dying career. Why he wanted to play for Stachan in the first place is beyond me, chalk and cheese and of course Strachan is a gobshite, as half the Celtic fans believe(y)

would have to be a cheaper transfer than what we sold him for. Also cheaper wages than he currently gets - possibly performance related.

Looks like he has lost some confidence and appetite for the game. No telling that moyes can bring that back or not.

if we could get the old gravs back I'd do it in a second though. He can play the ball on the deck and put a ball through to AJ etc.

take some of the strain of arteta and provide some fight as well.

is the fight still in the dog though?

of course teams like derby or sunderland may want him.

and they'd be willing to pay 3 or 4 million and probs out of desperation offer him better wages.

I think its win win here. If he says he wants to play for us, strachan may well sell to us at a lower price as Gravs aint in his plans.

If not or if gravs doesn't lower wage demands - so what? I can seriously only imagine him ressurecting his career under one manager - and that is moyes.

He goes elsewhere, that'll be the last we hear of him.

I've never blamed him for leaving us for RM for the reason you say. He did however not have any good games for Denmark after that and quit the national team when he move to Celtic "to concentrate on his Celtic career". At the same time he has placed an interview embargo on himself - refusing to comment or anything to the media. Seeing him play for Celtic was not a great site and as you say his confidence must have taken a huge dive.
He might as you say be up for one good challenge in what would probrably be his last contract abroad before shipping back to Denmark.

I would offer him the opportunity, but I have doubts whether he would be up for it.

Id like to see the Grav back for a season or two, as ive said on here a few times a player i always admired. I still think he could do a job as a squad palyer.

When you look at Cars still doing a job for us and Stubbsey could be a good bit of Buissness untill we find a young creative, box to box midfild player to take over long term.
