Not sure he'd do that actually. We have a whole other squad now, when he played here he was the "star".. now he won't be that... and I don't think he'll cope with that very well.. unfortunately.

I never thought I'd say this but we don't need him now. And this coming from someone who still thinks he can play.

We need a creative, attacking type player in midfield other than Arteta and Gravesen, while a very good player, doesn't fit this mold.

Save the wages.

There were strong indications on the rumour mill tonight of an Everton Ace returning. I can only think of G, of course this is like paper talk. But under the current circs who knows perhaps Moyes will try and bring him back, I truly hope not. I know some folk on here would like to see him return but not me, I fail to see what he can now offer the club when we have signed Jags and Pienaar. FFS Moyes do not do it.

Don't think it'll happen, unless it's out of desperation with nothing available, but still, a silly thing to do.

He played gash for years then had a good half a season and left us at the first bite. We were going for Europe and he bailed out.

For that reason, he can do one.

Chico out, Tommy in, sounds as though he's off to Sunderland, a great pity(y)

Sorry Monty, in truth he was just another mercenary who ditched us when we were fighting to hold onto 4th place, for a bigger club and bigger paypacket. If he was so good as some maintain why did he not stay to help us in our quest for Europe, he had no loyalty except to himslef so please stop giving him legendary status. In fact if TWF was still alive and you could go back and check the match reports which will show he played an awful lot of crap games.

So everyone's a mercenary when Real Madrid come in for them?

I'd understand if another Premiership team came in and said, "Hey, join us and we'll double your wages..."

But Real Madrid coming in is a whole different ball game. One of the largest clubs in the world, always in Europe.

I wouldn't call Gravesen a mercenary for that move as everyone of sound mind would have made that move, true Blue or not.

I see your point Bill but I see it this way.

He played [Poor language removed] in the seasons before hand. The one season he pulled it together, he left halfway through.

His agent Sivebeck was touting him for a move and he listened to him.

That season he left us halfway through was the season we finished in fourth, he knew how much qualifying for Europe meant to the club and he could have showed some loyalty and finished the job.

As a result we got Mikky as his replacement but he wasnt to know that.

I love Mikky immeasurably more than Graveson.
