Happens in Germany. If a young manager over performs with a smaller club, they get to have a crack at a big job. It's why Nagelsmann will get the Bayern gig next year. It's only England where this doesn't happen (with a couple of exceptions).

Not while we are still in 4 comps.

But we must factor in our shocking current place in the grand scale of things, inexperienced manager, no freaking striker, 24 players bang out of form, club totally on its arse.

So our expectations must surely change from the starting point of "win a cup/finish in top 4", currently something like "top half finish/decent cup runs", lick our wounds and go again next season.
