Ok, I've never used this forum much, but I've been having a think about feedback. Thoughts on these ideas, please.

  • Elected President, VP, Hon Presidents of GOT (or title to be decided)
  • Memorial 'garden' for fallen blues we know or have posted on here
  • Book publishing to raise money for GOT. TW and NSNO and Kipper have this, why not GOT? LCAB's stuff for one could see the light of day and I'm sure there's loads more. Seems a natural extension to the mooted selling of t-shirts etc
  • One day 'sin bins' to augment the period of bannings already in place - as a rap across the knuckles
  • Poster of the week/month/year awards
  • Scrap the pretty much unused 'upgraded member' lounge and bring back the chatbox

Thanks for the feedback. It's good to hear some insightful thoughts.

Hmm. Not sure how that would work.

Not a bad shout actually.

In the pipeline (y) The website had to come first.

Very good shout.

Horrific. Usage wise they're insane. They're impossible to moderate and comments drag into other forums and confuse all!

Thanks mate. I had a feeling that the chatbox was not going to be well received. In any case, as I said, I think the twitter stuff overtakes it now anyway.

Sounds like the other ideas were pretty much on the money though. On the books: we've all been banging on about the LCAB sermon stuff for a while now and I can't imagine it not doing a roaring trade. And he knows so many people it'll be a bestseller if only they buy it!!

Thread bans:

Having just been banned on one I'd like to make a suggestion/request. When someone is thread banned it means you cant post (obviously) but you can still receive comments to earlier posts. Is there a way of disabling replies to the banned poster's comments so the respondent cant quote you? I say this because it must look like ignorance on the banned posters behalf toward the respondent.

Thanks.

They slapped an ASBO on you lid? The law be fierce around here lately. Surprised they don't super impose a massive Star Of Davek (sic) on your avatar too.

I'm not contesting it, tbh.

Although I think Woolly did it reluctantly and agreed with every word I said, he had to respond to the complaints. That's what I tell myself anyway.

You were rightly thread banned, wasn't me like but you were off on one. I was going to let you reply and then thread ban you but plainly someone beat me to it.

The add-on we're using for thread bans can't do what you suggest and, because Xenforo now has thread bans built in, I doubt the add-on developer will be updating his code. We're still using the add on rather than the built in code because the built in's a bit primitive.

In short, it seems unlikely.
