Threat of villa

I would love Everton to be in it. However, it does lack credibility.

The format is all over the shop. If all teams in a 'group' don't play each other home and away then it is introducing an unnecessary 'luck of the draw' element.

They are everything I wat us to be, EVERYTHING.

The thing for me is this revisionism where at one point people think us and Villa were in the same boat.

We weren't at all because we've got an owner who's an idiot who put the club in a chokehold financially with no plan.

Villa just had to move chess pieces about.

We're the polar opposites. Which shows when 3 ex-Everton players who played under the Moshiri reign now play in the champions league.

The PL is way more important than the CL. Has been for years.
Importance is moot. You slaggging off the CL - with some justification - for being all the things the PL is - but defending that - is hilarious double-standards.

I enjoy your wumming, but it's become by-numbers in recent times, and the transparency of your motivations undermine the laughs.

The CL is an abomination in its current form - a Frankenstein's monster. But the PL has been a horror show for over 20 years now. Oh, but then I forget: we are in one - just about - and can only dream of the other. That explains that, then.

Indeed, to me it shows how important decisions are in the boardroom, and how important, good and strong leadership is.

Even with the crap we have had the last 10 years lets say.....it would not take us THAT long to get back to where Villa are.

Things can go either way very fast.

Villa was a disaster before the current manager.
The media tend to shy away from mentioning his name.

Goes back to the point of having a plan and making decisions to navigate it.

They spent a good £100mill with Slippy in charge. Wasn't working out. Moved him on, brought in Emery. Still brought in 19 players and spent near £200mill (purely on incomings and not considering outgoings).

They've progressed well, got top 4 which they gambled on, and haven't had any blips in the road

You’re spot on with this.

There was a discussion on Talksport this morning, about their wonderful result last night and what a magnificent job Emery is doing and not one single mention of Gerrard and the mess he left, during the whole discussion.

It’s really strange, as Gerrard is the other side of the world now and a complete non entity.
