Read a good piece abt The Villa in the Athletic on how well they spent the Jack Grealish money and selling homegrown players to fit in with FFP. They also did 'a Chelsea' by selling the ground back to the owners. Basically good management and a well run club.

He was absolutely fine. Emery quite often makes like for like changes around the hour mark to freshen things up with no drop off in quality.

You can’t begrudge villa fans having their time in the sun. Can’t believe in 2021 we were talking about them being a threat to us and how the last 3 years have swung.
That game against Bayern struck men about the level of Bayern and of villa.
Villa had a better manager and players across the pitch were evenly matched.
I hope that our arc is beginning to turn.

The most impressive thing for me is how many signing have been pulled in from the championship level clubs, non fancied sides and other sides rejects.
Watkins, Martinez, Duran and Rogers are all players within reach of us if we were well run. All within that 20m 30m bracket we have spunked away.
I only hope we can learn from villa.

They have their own stadium issues they will have to resolve. Villa park is in better than goodison
