Mason ahead of Short?Coleman, Digne, Rico and maybe DCL get into that side. Otherwise there isn't a case for anyone else.

Completely forgot about him! Imagine a prime Dave Watson guiding Holgate....Mason ahead of Short?
I also feel like, as terrible as our midfield is, there's got to be SOMEONE we could get in there ahead of Tony Grant or Collins (who still goes down as one of my biggest disappointments when it comes to Everton signings. Thought we had an absolute Rolls of a midfielder there, and he was truly awful)Completely forgot about him! Imagine a prime Dave Watson guiding Holgate....

Worryingly this 1998 starting 11 would beat the bellends we have now.

They’ll probably scrap FFP in favour of a stricter system now that one of the undesirables has slipped the net and upset the apple cart.

Lol a significant fine.. 10 million, that's comparable to fining me a Penny. That is my reading of it mate, the bit i read on the ruling is as follows:
"As the charges with respect to any dishonest concealment of equity funding were clearly more significant violations than obstructing the CFCB's investigations, it was not appropriate to impose a ban on participating in UEFA's club competitions for MCFC's failure to co-operate with the CFCB's investigations alone.
"However, considering i) the financial resources of MCFC; ii) the importance of the cooperation of clubs in investigations conducted by the CFCB, because of its limited investigative means; and iii) MCFC's disregard of such principle and its obstruction of the investigations, the CAS Panel found that a significant fine should be imposed on MCFC and considered it appropriate to reduce UEFA's initial fine by 2/3, i.e. to the amount of EUR 10 million."
City were found in breach of FFP and that has been upheld. Uefa jumped the gun a bit in banning City for two years, based on them not playing ball with their investigation. The ruling this morning as i read it is not about a breach in FFP - which was upheld, but the ban on non co-operation with the investigation and the punishment of a two year ban not being proportionate, it was deemed not and reverted to a 10 mill fine, which isnt insignificant. The case isnt about FFP, more about the proportionality of punishment based on the variable of City not playing ball with Uefa in the investigation.
Im not sure its the smoking gun we are looking for on FFP. Rather CAS and UEFA are at odds on their implementation of harshness for restrictions for breaches. Just my read of it anyhow, im open minded about it however.
The ideal situation would be what the NBA do. Luxury tax.. you can spend more than you earn but you are taxed at say 10% so if you spend a hundred million more than your income you pay UEFA 10 million and that gets distributed around grass roots, everyone is a winner, clubs that don't want to spend much don't have to, those who do want to spend can do, and by doing so help grass roots out financially. They’ll probably scrap FFP in favour of a stricter system now that one of the undesirables has slipped the net and upset the apple cart.
If they were genuinely serious about making football more egalitarian then this would be a very sensible approach. However, it's about making sure that the biggest brands for selling the Champions League around the world remain a permanent presence in the competition so there is zero chance! It's no coincidence to me that PSG and City have been repeatedly targeted whilst Real Madrid and Barcelona can essentially do what they like. That Arthur/Pjanic deal between Barca and Juve is the most blatant FFP scam you could ever see but, because of the clubs involved, there won't even be an investigation. The ideal situation would be what the NBA do. Agree, it really is sad to see that the governing body of European football are so obviously creating anti competition rules. When the likes of United half a billion in debt can spend what they want and the likes of City with no debt are constantly investigated. If they were genuinely serious about making football more egalitarian then this would be a very sensible approach. Pickford. That's how bad Myhre was.Coleman, Digne, Rico and maybe DCL get into that side. Otherwise there isn't a case for anyone else.
