Leeds United and Burnley have threatened to sue the Premier League and Everton for significant damages because they believe the Merseyside club has committed a serious breach of financial rules.

The two clubs sent a letter last week warning that they would reserve the right to take legal action against the Premier League and Everton, asking for details of what action or investigation had been launched in the league after Everton registered a £ 371.8 million loss. the last three years.

The Premier League’s profit and financial sustainability rules allow clubs to lose a maximum of £ 105 million over three years or receive penalties for deducting points for serious breaches.

The damage caused by the Covid pandemic can be written off, but Leeds and Burnley have expressed concern that
...that, what?

If anyone wants doing it's Man Utd. I am a Leeds fan their performance against you had to be so one paced it defied belief. I don't know your finances but we had our minus 15 season in 2007 when Bates pulled some manipulative accounts to keep ownership. Sheffield Wednesday and Derby always had something going on financially and we're found out. We made our bed In January by not bringing in players .Resigned to relegation but who knows what will happen. If Everton have done something wrong you will be found out . Simple as that.
Enjoy going to Wigan next season mate .

It’s on skys website now, this is nuts, we went through all this in the middle of the season. Leeds and Burnley can’t honestly believe that after walking away from us in the middle of the season and saying they are happy we have complied, that the premier league would come back at the end of the season and say “actually, No, you didn’t comply, we are going to deduct points from you”.

We would surely go back to the court of arbitration for sport and get the decision overturned if they did?

I’d be arsed if we had, but we haven’t.

Our owner isn’t clever enough to do any creative accounts like that crook Bates.

And plus, we’ve been working with the FA for months on this

To penalise a club at some point requires that there would be an ongoing investigation and an outcome. Wigan were dismayed that the decision went against them so late in the day but they knew some sort of decision was coming. In our case, if some investigation were taking place it is only natural justice that we would have to know what our fate might be. If, for example, we might attract a 10 point penalty - and knew this was a realistic possibility - we would fight tooth and nail to get to, say, 49 points. As things stand to invent a punishment a posteriori would be completely subject to legal challenge by Everton.

Its a Friday night, I know nothing more about our accounts than what is on companies House, and I dont want to bore anyone, but our accounts will have been signed off by an auditor.
And there is nothing wrong with our accounts, they are perfectly fine, the issue isnt with the accounts we submitted.

They show all our loses, the issue will be with the 180m we have written off with respect to covid, which isnt shown in the accounts.

Apart from :

Please note, the table above does not include uncrystallised COVID-19 pandemic related losses arising from the significant deterioration in the player trading market. The ability of the Club to generate material profits on player trading, which also yields significant wage and amortisation savings due to the players no longer being contracted to the Club, has unquestionably resulted in a material and negative impact on the Club across the last two reporting periods.

The Club is continuing to assess the uncrystallised financial impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Board of Directors strongly believe that a further substantial financial loss, not reflected in the £82.1m cumulative crystallised figure referred to opposite, has been incurred by the Club
