Times article, Burnley/Leeds threaten to sue Everton

We need to ban Americans from owning Premier League clubs.

Ambulance chasers.
American owners have always been the biggest threat to the league. They're already thick as thieves and in bed with other. If they get enough of them, they will have enough voting rights to changes the league into something more like the NFL. No relegation or promotion and every team makes a profit. I hope Burnley's owners get utterly creamed and they end up bankrupt. They used a leverage buy out to purchase the club and thought they could milk the Prem forever.

They can't be that smart though, or have actually visited Burnley, if they thought that was a sustainable investment to make money off the Premier League.

I'd like to think we'd get a slap on the wrist - but I'm not convinced

I'd like to think sanctions might be suspended (because of the extraordinary Covid-19 situation the net loss would have incurred a lesser loss and therefore, probably, a much smaller sanction which we certainly should be appealing for in the event of a negative outcome).

I'd like to hope any sanction wouldn't apply this season as this creates a sense of After The Fact - and the Leeds/Burnley angle is somewhat late in the day.

Perhaps the warning we got will be the reasons behind our apparent compliance which was the limited action taken by the PL Board (in accordance with their statement that they MAY hold a Commission). To reverse that decision, given to Everton, would definitely not be natural justice. The complainants - allowed by the Rule book to make a complaint - will feel differently. I'm sure the PL would have been well aware of this conflicting viewpoint and potential flare point (pun intended).
